Cool Reaction Time Simulator! Try it!!

Hey all you experienced drag strip racers! I came a cross a fun drag strip launch simulator today for practicing reaction times.

Here's the link:

http://www.howtodragrace.com/category/launching

You start by clicking the "CLICK TO PRESTAGE" button...the rest is pretty self explanatory.

How about some of you help out us noobs and check it out...let us know how realistic it is. I started out with RT's in the 2 sec range. Now I'm down to under 1.0. Clearly I won't be that good at the track, under pressure and with all the adrenalin rush (at least not right away), but it would be good to know if this thing is at all realistic.

Little help?

Kinda cool!

Note that it records the time until you release the button, not until you press it.

Fun little game but nothing like a real tree. Normally when you are staging on a tree you should launch when you see the last yellow bulb light as by the time you react its hard to red light. On this game its all in your fingers but it is fun. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for this info...it's still fun to try to anticipate the best time to click, tho!

I tried to imagine myself actually staged and watching the lights. I thought about how I'd come off the brakes and roll in the throttle. It helped me visualize the real thing, at least a little bit. It's good to know it will probably be pretty different from this simulator.

Much appreciated!

Only different in that you hammer the gas as soon as the 3rd yellow goes on. Too much computer lag on the simulator for that lol.

Fun little game.

If you really want some realistic practice pick up a Port-a-Tree Pocket Pal 7000 and get the optional foot pedal. (You can even get a clutch pedal). You can program in all kinds of goodies and make it react just like your Camaro.

Sounds cool. The gloves are off. Stang buddy is ordering DOT's. Pushed him over the edge.

I figured out that you can hit it before the green comes on, but when the last yellow shuts off. You don't have to click when the green light actually is lit. Just when the last light shuts off.
