Suspension upgrades that a novie DIYer can do

Novice* Sorry about the misspelling, didn't see it.

Hi guys, I already installed bmr drop springs myself and I want to beef up my suspension even more. What would you suggest I do? I have about a $800 budget, but I want to be able to do everything myself. I am a novice and the hardest install I've done would be the drop springs, but I'm up for a challenge. I don't have a lift, so I would be using jack stands. Also I'm mainly just looking at getting rid of wheel hop, I want to wait on sway bars.

Thanks for your help!

I would add Sway Bars, many great brands, take your pick. Easy install, big handling improvement.

I did rear lower control arms and bushings myself. I think they were $250 or so. Really helped with wheel hop

Toe rods, trailing arms and their bushings are going to give you best bang for your buck. I'd talk to JDPTyler as he really helped me.

I've done all my mods so it is possible.

I have a build thread if you want to look, but here is one for now...

I just added BMR strut tower brace, front and rear sway bars and end links for $850. Have not driven the car yet, my brother actually did the work and he is bringing to car to me next weekend.

What is it you want your Camaro to do better?

Nice build threads! Are you planning to do lower control arms? I kind of want to do everything that would require a alignment at once. That way I don't have to pay for multiple alignments

You lowered, but did not re-align?

I did LCA's, did the FE4 OEM upgrades so I could use the new sway bars. Pretty much upgraded the whole thing ;o). I also have the Moreno Motorsports caster/camber upgrades too. Justice Pete also helped me with alignment specs and that really set me up.

Heed his advice. He and Tyler from JDP know their stuff!

Did you consider upgrading the FE3 suspension to the FE4 before your swaybar purchase? I am currently performing this upgrade as we speak, and I am very interested to see the results of the suspension upgrades. As other people have previously posted, the rear trailing arms and lower control arms are a significant improvement in the aunch traction, tracking and wheel hop areas. Best of luck with your improvements! Have fun with it!

I got the car aligned the next day after the install, about 3 years ago. Im saying I don't want to install some parts that require an alignment and then a year later add some other parts that require an alignment. Id rather just do them all at once.
