Lightbulb Digitail Tail Lights

I decided to give the '69 some pizzazz and am adding the Digitail tail lights.

This was one of the poorest kits I've ever installed. The templates (for drilling holes in the housing) did not come close to where the brackets were. I had to bend and twist them to get them lined up.

Also, the circuit boards themselves didn't fit. I had to use my Dremel to grind down some of the edges.

But, finally, they're in. I tested them and they do work. We'll see how they behave once in the car.

Thumbs up Doors and Trunk Lid

More progress (albiet, extremely slow) on body work. The doors and trunk lid are ready for prime, sand and block.

The front clip has not been touched yet. I'm hoping over the next couple of weeks that'll get done.

Seats

By the way, with Diana's help, we fitted the roll bar into the Camaro and worked with the interior guy to fit the back seat in. However, there's no way the original seat is going to fit.

As such, we've decided to go with two small bucket seats. He has a jig where he's previously built Cobra bucket seats with. With the extra Corbeau material I bought, he'll make these seats match the two front Corbeau seats.

We'll carpet around the two buckets and make them look like they belong.

I'm still debating on whether to modify the door panels with some of the extra material to tie them into the ensemble. We'll see...

Smile Autometer Gauges

Also, I purchased new Autometer speedo and tach gauges. I'm having a guy CNC mounting plates to fit in place of the old gauges. These plates will be brushed aluminum to match the gauges.

Unfortunately, the old ABS plastic instrument carrier panel cracked so I'm having to order a new one. In addition, I do have to cut out the gauge "pockets" so that the new gauges will fit.

I'm confident the it'll look awesome when finished. Plus the fact, they'll tie into the console Autometer gauges.

Pictures coming soon.

By the way, if you need Autometer gauges, contact Ivan at Southwest Speed. He's the man!!

It's really coming along. Nice job, Curt! That's a great idea for mounting the autometer gauges. I can't wait to see how it looks!

Red face Front Clip

Here's some pictures of the front clip being worked on. It's a tear down process to get ready for paint.

We are painting the engine compartment the same color as the underneath and exterior of the car (blue).

Parts are now in the paint department. As always, my project is low priority and will be gotten to during slow times.

Unfortunately, we will not make it for the Southwestern Musclecar National. But, we are making progress.

Thumbs up Autometer Instrument Gauges

Check out my Instrument Gauge replacement using Autometer gauges at

http://cc-nm.org/gallery-2/autometer...acement-for-69

I will do a more detailed write up later. These are just some pictures.

I had to build a jig that took longer than the actual cuts and fits.
