Yeah, with the 4bbl Ro, they slapped the 350/300 stickers on em, but also 350/295 if they had air.

As you go through it, don't throw anything away.......the collector industry, due to all the counterfeiting, has transitioned to valuing original condition cars just as much as frame off restos....Z/28s and SSs. Why? because its easier to determine an original car versus trying to authenticate a resto...

For example, if your car has all the original parts....carb, intake, heads, block, transmission, etc. and that interior, its easily as much (as it sits) if not more than a fully restored SS 350 car. Original condition cars are rare and getting more rare.

So when you're putting it around, just remember it could be worth more than your late model camaro. And be careful, cuz its easily stolen, and probably not insured for what its worth.

One my favorite years next to the 1967-68 Camaro. I like how Camaros didn't have to be an SS to come with a V8 back in the day.

Thats one of my favorite configs of the early camaros. Although the Z/28 was the hardcore enthusiasts car, the 350, 4speed car with A/C was the sportsmans car, the driver....because it had power and air conditioning. Thats the car I would've bought....because I like A/C in the summer....and the rated HP of the Z/28 wasn't higher than the 350/295.

And it wasn't necessarily cheaper than a Z/28....the A/C option was around $400....not alot by todays terms....but with the base price of the car around $2700, thats a 15% zap for a buyer......easy decision now....but I would've bought AC over Z/28 back then.

There's a book... Chevrolet by the numbers.....
It will should you how to read the casting numbers and the date codes for all the "important" parts.....even the waterpump.

Those rally wheels are date coded too......so don't throw that front ugly one away....they are too hard to find.

Post a pic of the engine compartment...I'm dying to see it and the intake manifold....whats the casting number on that?

Your tires actually don't look too bad....I would focus more on cleaning....tires are last.

The car needs a deep cleaning.....clean the engine comparment with a degreaser and a toothbrush. And get hold of a buffer and rub the paint out with some 3M "perfect it" rubbing compound to remove all the oxidation from the paint. Then sand those rusted areas down to the metal and put some primer on em to prevent any further oxidation.

And cut those right angle tail pipes off...those look silly.

That's a pretty odd combination of options. Base car, Non-SS with 350, disc brakes, 4-sp and apparently A/C. Nice....

Don't forget the factory rear spoiler (I'm assuming, but the paint match looks good) and the hockey stripe.......

I've seen less for sale for $20K

I wonder what rear end is in the car......most likely a 10bolt 1 legger, but a posi would be cool and a 12 bolt would be fantastic)

Wasn't the LM1 you mention essentially a complete SS without the badges. As in, you order this motor, it has to come with multi-leaf springs, 12 bolt etc etc

Could be.....I've seen some weird things before.....best to count the bolts, read the code, and spin the rear tires.

But you're right, the car is basically a badgeless SS350.
