I would love to see this finish on a silver or cyber grey car....it would look like stainless steel or gun metal...I think that would be sexy.

It's just a vinyl wrap...so...you'd just pull it off if you want to go back to the factory paintjob.

Harley-Davidson has been offering some flat paint schemes for a couple of years.

Reminds me of the low-dollar hot rods of the '50s & '60s... I kinda like it since it's so smooth and without the rattle-can runs and dark spots!

A german friend of ours achieved the matte black look on his 2010 Camaro with the use of a vinyl wrap, a popular option (vs. painting) because of its cost effectiveness and reversability.
Can't say it does a lot for me but then again it is a color so clearly up to personal taste, I would be interested to hear more about the process for having it put on, I had never heard of it before.

If it ever got cheap enough then auto makers could make neutral white cars and people could just get skins to suit them that year, feel like a Red car, no problem, just shrink wrap on a new paint job...

BTW - If any one with a high gloss black Camaro wants to try that look out I would guess, what, 3-5, donuts in a dirt lot, then clean the windows and you are good to go

Wow color me impressed! I have never liked the look of vinyl wrapped cars (usually), but this one looks awesome! Nice work.

I didn't read all the posts so sorry if this has been stated... Matte (satin) finish is much harder to paint then gloss. Reason being if you screw up a gloss paint job, chances are you can sand and buff it out. You can't do this to matte. Once you spray it, that all. It has to be flat, clean and run free. You can not fix any of your mistakes easily. The paint is regular paint with a flattening agent added. You can add as much as you like to get the desired sheen. Problem being, you can never polish it. You can apply wax to protect it but no rubbing! Case in point, many people have done this on their motorcycles. Well, they were getting shiney spots on the gas tanks from their legs rubbing. You have to be very careful with matte finishes.

And to the person sho stated its vinyl, thats possible. You would have to see it in person to know. Probably a much cheaper and less permanent way.

And btw that car looks bad ass but its not for me.

Eh, ive never been a fan of flat black paint, the only time i liked it was on some custom 69' Camaro a guy made but it was meant to look like a rat-rod, the new Camaros are about the exact opposite of "rat-rod" in my oppinion (3800 pounds with 800 of which being retarted accessories) dont get me wrong the new Camaro is my 3rd favorite car (2nd being 79' Trans Am, 1st being 71' Hemi Cuda) but im just not feelin the black, i agree with the guy that has IOM with black hockey stripes, very nice combo indeed ^_^

Random afterthoughts....I do like how you put the "SS" emblems on the side, thats a very nice note, i wanted to take the new style "CAMARO" off the side and replace it with a classic style "Camaro" from the 60's cars, i just like that faunt better on the car...also, has anyone else ever considered rendering a Vinyl top onto the new Camaros or Challengers? I personally think it would look great on the Challengers, idk about the Camaros though they're a little too futuristic looking for that, but still id like to see it!
