Why no K&N Cold Air Intake yet?

What is taking K&N so long to come out with a CAI. They are the biggest name in air filters with the best of resources and testing facilities yet they are not yet out with any product. Emailed them the other day but just got a basic reply that CAI not currently available. They make these intakes for more cars then any other company, seems odd that it would take this long when they have them already for G8s and other similiar vehicles.

Maybe they're being real careful to get it right. The original K&N Intakes for the LS2 GTO's rubbed on a belt pulley. K&N had to change the design after everyone started complaining (Including myself) about their intakes getting holes cut in them.

But I'm sure they'll put one out pretty soon.

There's certainly enough other choices...why are you waiting for K&N? I don't see them being that much (if any) better than all the others.

Yeah, I did the same thing. I got my 2SS M6 the last week of June. I think I was home for about 20 minutes and went to the K&N web site and they did not have a kit listed so I sent an email inquiring about one. They responded the next day, telling me that there was one in development but they had no timetable for delivery. I emailed again in the middle of October; same reply. I have been a loyal K&N user for the last 15 years, but I did not wait. I had been looking at what was available while waiting and bought a BWoody kit off EBAY. Easy to install, and it does use a K&N cone shaped filter. So far so good!!!

Very reputable name in aftermarket filters and CAI, although there are some great systems out there, I wanted to see what they were coming out with before purchasing. I would assume they would take their time and produce something that works well but it surprises me that they have not offered a CAI for such a popular vehicle especially since I'm pretty sure they have the resources$$$$ to thoroughly design and test this type of product. I do like some other products out there, just figured they would be out already so I could include in final decision.

K&N is subpar and uses old filter designs. Your car deserves better.

Did you drive the car with their set-up,or did they just use your car for measuring purposes?
