Well, it's about 830 AM here in the cold northeast. I think it said 13 degrees on my car's outside temperature display. I have my coffee and egg whites on a wrap and I'm ready to go this morning. After being on this forum for a while, it's pretty exciting watching our first 2010 Camaro go thru the "birthing" process. So here we go for this morning. Open up Global Connect and click on the "My Placed" link. This will show us all of the orders that ran thru the Pass One process last week. This is the last day for me to make any changes to those orders. If I don't make the necessary changes, I could easily end up with an assortment of generic orders. However, that rarely happens because even if I am on vacation, I either have someone else do it for me or I have internet access and can do it remotely. But with the Camaro, I have never seen such hype over the order process and I'd better get this one right. I don't want to deal with some crazed Camaro nut who didn't get the proper equipment. I wouldn't do it wrong because of pride so the customer has very little to worry about anyway. SInce I ran the Pass One with this particular order, I know the car is buildable within constraints so I really don't have to do anything with it except double and triple check. Next step is to hand the order to the salesperson to double check my work and then I will check it again after he is done with it. At this point, we have no reason to call the customer but if she calls, we will give her the up to date info as we have it (she's not a member of this forum so I'm off the hook). The status has now moved to a 2000 event code which means "Accepted by GM". My job is done today for this order and I will watch it patiently and update here as to it's status from day to day. As of today, this order is now considered "Placed" and will appear in the "In System" tab tomorrow. I should get a TPW next Wednesday. It should be the week of 3/23/09. I will try to post up a screen shot of the order as it sits so you know what to look for.

So I hand the order to the salesperson to check and he notices an interior discrepancy. Originally the customer wanted all black leather. But then changed to Inferno orange leather. So I changed the order and now the event code shows 2051 (order changed) in the event history yet on the Order Workbench sheet it still shows 2000.
This is why all the hullabaloo over what code your order is at is somewhat inaccurate. All that really matters is when it gets placed after the Pass One. Confused yet?

Just a suggestion... but I think it might be easier to keep editing the OP, instead of posting a new one each time there is new info. You could just put the date, and whatever happened that day. I think this will make it much easier to see the timeline, instead of everyone having to wade through the entire thread and possibly missing something.
BTW thanks for doing this |

That's why you should read thru the whole thread to get a complete understanding of the process.
There are no shortcuts in this class. Just be lucky I'm not giving out homework!
