clear plastic seat covers

Any suggestions on where I can buy some clear plasic, high quality seat covers for my 2SS? Any of them made specifically for the 2SS seats or any that fit very well?

Thanks!

I take it you may want to keep them protected from children? Here are the only clear plastic ones I could find. Not specifically for Camaro, but they are probably a universal fit.

Clear plastic and high quality won't go together. Its completely the wrong material. Why on earth would you want clear covers anyways?

What would you suggest if I like the seat look but want to protect it from wear? Are the only choices the velvet cloth covers in Pep Boys or chemicals? How effective are the leather treatments in the long run? I'm grasping for a solution.

Your leather is already coated in order to make it last longer, but you need to take care of that coating. Not all Leather cleaners and conditioners work on coated leather. I don't have leather so I don't have this worry, but I know that Dylan has stated that Adam's Leather Conditioner works to protect any coated leather and keep it looking like new.

The best defense is vacuuming it regularly and then clean and condition it every month or so depending on use and UV exposure. You can go longer if its rarely driven or a sunday driver. I would look at neoprene seat covers if you really really want to use them but I've never been a fan of covers in general. They'll cost more but are far more durable, well made, and even waterproof.

my grandmother may have some plastic covers, i will ask her where she buys her too. sorry, couldn't resist.

seriously, enjoy the car, condition the seats, i use adams products. if years down the road they are totally worn you can always buy a new seat leather skin from chevy and have it look like new.

Leather will wear out no matter what... conditioning and proper care will slow it as much as possible, but trying to prevent wear entirely simply isn't realistic.

I guess you could do the plastic cover thing, but if all you can do is look at your leather thru a clear plastic sheet and not actually enjoy it whats the point?

I say clean and condition regularly, be as careful as you can getting in an out of the car (try not to slide or drag on them too much) and enjoy them for what they are. Replacing the seat covers eventually with something even higher quality than what came stock will run you <$1000 (assuming that time comes before you're ready to part ways with the car)
