I got a question for you Andy. When you close the flaps all the way to make car quite how does the exhaust breathe if both flaps are closed? I'm curious to how this works... |

When the flaps are closed all exhaust is routed through the muffler and comes out the inner pipe of each muffler. The outer pipe has the flap and is a straight through.

Thus, when the flaps are open, exhaust comes out both tailpipes on each side. When the flaps are closed, it closes one tailpipe on each side, leaving the other two (one on each side) open. |

So I got my new “ADM PERFORMANCE “ 3 way exhaust controller in today.I decided to not waste any time getting it installed.
I un-boxed it and to my surprise it could not have been made any simpler to install, 1 connection to 1 power wire, 1 ground wire to the factory ground bolt just 6 inches away. Wire lengths exactly the right length. Next I had to replace the factory exhaust control harness with the ADM supplied harness (Its Factory as well but with an interface connector to the ADM Controller). It was a bit hard to get to under the car as it is just above the Muffler on the passenger side. I used a 10mm deep socket and a small ¼” drive ratchet to remove the solenoid shield allowing access to the connector. Once I had access it was just unplug the old one and plug in the new one(I got to keep my factory one I removed in case I ever want to remove the ADM CONTROLLER) Once I plugged in the ADM CONTROLLER to the new harness I was done with all my connections, Very simple. I peeled the Velcro back from the controller and stuck it right were pictures said to put it. So before I went any further I decided to check it out. Started the car and pushed the b button on the remote and the exhaust got quiet at idle(Idle is normally open)Pushed the b button again and it got louder(Back to factory). Then I pushed the A button and No change, but I realized that is open all the time. At Idle it was already open. I went ahead and installed the trunk carpet and panels back and hit the road. So cruising around I left them closed as I am a header car. Then I got on the highway and it went quiet, I hit button A and it was loud all the time.Man this is cool, total control all at the push of a button. All in all it does everything I expected and did not take all day to install.Great job ADM ! |
