67/68 Heater/Vent Controls(lever) question

Wondering if your levers move freely all the way left to right? I just installed a new heater control(lever) assy with cables and i am having the same issue as i did with the old one that the levers only move part way. I triple ckd the cables are going to correct doors per the service manual. Both the cables and doors move all the way freely when not connected, but connected its like i move it half way and the door is all the way shut, move it the other way and it appears all the way open.

Any ideas??
