Don't forget. All that power is useless without a sticky set of tires. There goes another 1000.00

+1 I didnt want to break his heart in what it really takes to get that kind of power ,everyone thinks its just a pulley change,CAI,tune headers, and bang you have a 750hp beast that will drive for yrs !!!!
NO DONT GET A LOAN UNLESS YOU PAID CASH FOR YOUR CAR !!! save wait till you can afford it,dont be one of those guys that cant afford the gas,as your mpg @650rwhp is going to be about a ave of 10mpg unless you drive on the freeway all the time and never get on it . Try waiting and buying used parts, they work just as well and come up all the time, heck sooner or later those that trade our cars in all take the parts off.
Good luck sir.

I'm also new to the ZL1 ownership and I have to say I'm really pleased with the power it currently has. Being a long time hot rodder I can appreciate the want for more power and in fact I'm building a '67SS just for that purpose. But, I have to ask what do you want to do with the car with all that power? From years of racing I can tell you the best way to make your car faster is to spend some money on improving your driver skills.

Nothing will make you more upset then to have you a$$ handed to you by somebody in a four door, 4 cyl import econobox because he/she is a much better driver than you. I'm signed up for some racing classes and will continue to invest in my driving before I worry about adding more power. JHO...

2500 won't cut it, but you'll be around 600+. You don't need 10k to get it reliably unless you get a package from a company that your paying to have the name. You can build your own package and spend around 6k and get 700+ reliably.

Is this a manual or an automatic? It's going to take a bit more in your budget to make 650rwhp but that is a very reasonable goal. I would start with a Rotofab Intake, Kooks Headers, and a thermostat, paired with a dyno tune. In a manual this gets you in the 550-560rwhp range. At that point you're close to running out of injector, so you'll need to upgrade if you plan on adding more boost or a cam. I like the Fuel Injector Connection 850cc or 1000cc injectors personally.

After intake/headers you can put more boost to it, and also you'll want to add a cam to make 650 comfortably. Is that Asheville, NC? If so feel free to stop by sometime, we'd be glad to show you around and discuss potential setups.

We do a lot of ZL1's and CTSV's and could set you up w/ a great package to hit your numbers. While you will go over to do it correctly we can piece you together something little by little. We also do our own in house snout porting which really pick up some killer numbers!

Yea I soon plan to go about making 650 soon as well. I was going to take the route of Roto fab CAI, Pdaft Tri-Y headers, noweeds diverting system(for sound of course) all as a start.
