4th generation Camaros
Is it just me or does it seem like every 4th generation camaro you see is driven by a highschooler, a redneck, or just someone who looks like an idiot? I notice the same tread going on with the mustangs of that era.

No, not really...
I think that way of thinking may also be why most people with 4th gens or older don't like most 5th gen people... A lot of 5th gen owners seem to have a big chip on their shoulder. This car is still JUST a Camaro... |

I'm a high schooler lol. I have a 2002 SS 6 spd. Black on black. It is mainly the prices on these dropped with the 5th gen. But it is still a great car. Strong drivetrain, nothing like a 5th but still fun.

That 02 is VERY nice! Lucky dog! My high school ride was an 86 cavalier station wagon on robin's egg blue!

I am sure it seems like the same with the 5th gen Camaros on the road too and honestly even worse some of the people who drive 5th Gens (who were 4th gen owners) think their $hit don't stink. I have noticed at lot of 5th Gen owners acting like Vette oners do not to mention the 5th gen owners who continue to put down the 5th gen owners who own V6 cars you never saw this with the 3rd or 4th Gen just the 5th so sad.

Haha thank you! Only has 47k miles on it. When I was growing up my dad had a 94z and a 02 SS vert so when I started looking for a car I knew a 4th gen would be good for me. And yes I do pay for this car myself but my dad was nice enough to finance it for me.

I agree. Personally I dont do that, I love the 5th gen and show respect. I don't race my car, I've yet to have it over 80 lol but a kid at my school has a 95 z and he always asks to race me. To me there's no point. He is stock LT1 I am stock LS1. I know I could win I don't need to waste my gas money for him.

i agree with what you are talking about. 4 gens are great but there are some 5gen owners that hate on them. Will the same thing happen when the next gen comes out? I cant wait to see the new alpha platform!!!!!

+1, And I have both and notice 5th gen owners think they are the coolest person on the road. I still love my 4th gens for their rawness and uncultured personality. 5th gens are getting to be like Camry's, the wife and I counted one day on a trip and there are so many on the roads its amazing.

Honestly, I like the 4th gen crowd better. More racers and less ricers. It's weird too cause you would think the 4th gen crowd would have more ricers since they are the younger guys. You hardly ever see all the flamboyant ricer looking mods I see all over this site on 4th gens. If you take 100 4th gen owners and 100 5th gen owners the average 4th gen owners are more likely to be at the track, less likely to be riced out (Transformers crap is also rice), average age is about 10-15 years younger, more down to earth, ect. Now I'm not saying there aren't cool 5th gen owners, I know plenty. I'm just stating a few things I have observed over the years.

I must fall in the "redneck" category...(I own a camouflaged baseball cap ). I'm in my 40's, so I'm definately not in the "young" crowd.
I haven't noticed that, but based on your assumptions/observations, maybe there are more young people driving them due to the cost of owning one. |

I totally agree with you on all accounts here. I take a lot of heat for having a 3rd gen but I love it. |
