Why is it so hard to find a manual transmission on a lot???

Almost every one I see that I'm interested in turns out to be auto :(

Because Americans don't buy cars with manuals.

There are plenty of manuals down here in my neck of the woods.

It is really annoying. When I went to buy mine last august I asked the salesman if he had any manuals on the lot and he said he could have sworn he had one, he checked every camaro on the lot before he realized the only manual was in the showroom. Before landing on the camaro I checked mustang and challenger. The ford dealership literally had 0 manuals, and the manager told me he only got them in when people special ordered them. The dodge lot on the other hand... They only had manuals, and the manager said that is the only way he orders them because that's how they should be driven. I liked him, until I test drove the camaro.

That's part of the reason I ordered mine exactly the way I wanted it.

because most people cant drive sticks, and of the ones that can, at least half of them don't want one. last I heard the number of cars produced with manual transmissions is down to 14%

Mines is a manual. The only automatics they had were either V6s or 1SS. I almost ordered an automatic 45th but went with a manual instead. One of the biggest regrets I have about my car. I'm way too old for this. I barely drive it because my knees aren't as young as they used to be.

Every now and again, you hear of people getting carjacked and the thief can't get away because they carjacked someone with a stick. Always hilarious. Yes, in America, most cannot drive manuals. I'd say 2/3 of men can't and 90% of women can't. That's one of the reasons why I love my car. Hardly anyone asks me to drive it because they simply can't, and the one or two people that have I trust because they actually know how to drive.

Manual transmissions are idiot-proof because idiot drivers tend to not be able to drive one!

I thought I once read there are something like 2 automatics for every 1 manual SS produced, though I personally think that's generous. I'm sure the V6 is off-the-charts lopsided for autos.

When I was looking good to upgrade to a manual trans SS I simply could not find one. No dealer within and hour and a half had them, new or used. When I was shopping the local dealer said they sold two manual 1SS cars that year so far and both were special ordered by their buyers. I got lucky and a friend spotted my 1LE at a GMC dealer. The rest is history lol.

The only reason is , that by the time you got there they already sold out the LS3
You may be that kind of a person that likes to sleep late , you CAN'T have it both ways , no way

When I was looking for my car, the dealer I went to had nothing but automatics. When I asked why, he told me "because this is California and there is not a large demand for manuals." But he was able to find one at another dealer in the Inland Empire and had it brought down
