Shopping for K&N Cold Air Intake
I was thinking of ordering a K&N CAI for my Camaro 3.6L, but what is the difference between the
K&N® - 69 Series Typhoon Cold Air Intake Kit K&N® - 63 Series Aircharger Intake Kit Besides the different finishes the Aircharger has a 14.96hp gain and the Typhoon has 13.45hp gain. at same price i might add.. Anybody know much about these 2? |

Although not exactly the same, I have the K&N Aircharger (plastic tube) in my SS. The main difference is obviously the appearance. I was tempted by the look of the Typhoon but it does not shield the heat as well... hence the lower HP gain.
I've never had my car dyno'd so can't confirm any HP gains but it definitely sounds a lot better and seems to be a bit quicker. Looks much better than the factory air box as well. I'm sure you'd be happy with either. |

We went with the Typhoon, just for looks alone,
the Aircharger as been known to cause a CEL.... We have not any problems with the Typhoon .... Go to "Filters and Intakes .com" Typhoons are $215.00 shipped........ |

yeah i checked it out, and you just have to search the part number and it came up. Also its only free shipping to most of the states.. not Canada...:(
Still lowest price i've seen. Dont know what all the fees and duties add up to though. |

Almost all CEL's (with any CAI) will be due to installing the MAF backwards or getting it dirty during install. Not sure of pricing but you can probably get/order through Partsource or NAPA in Canada. (Got mine through Partsource.)
