Question for my Fellow Californians
What's good folks.
I live in San Jose, CA and mostly commute all over the Bay Area, and I just had a couple questions for all my fellow California Camaro drivers. 1) Do we need front license plates? And who has been pulled over for not having one? 2) I just bought Flowmaster American Thunder Axle-Backs for my V6 M Camaro LS, but will they pass smog when I take it? And will they be too loud to where I could run the risk of getting pulled over? Just worried about driving home sometimes after a couple drinks... would hate to get a DUI simply cause I was pulled over something dumb like a license plate. Thanks |

No front licence plate for 16 months no problems. Mufflers will not affect smog emissions. As far as drinking DONT DO IT. NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE EVEN ON A BIKE. GET A DD.

Since you appear more concerned about yourself than others, allow me to phrase this in a way that matters to you.
If you have a BAC over .05 and you get into an accident, insurance companies will fight tooth and nail to NOT pay you and fix your car. Not to mention that whole potential death and dying issue. |

Don't drink even a little and drive. Don't have a front plate. Just went to smog with a cat back system and it was fine. Cold air kit had to got back to stock for testing. Could not find a CAI with a CARB sticker.

Was that the reason for pulling you over?

First off, like most people said: Don't drink and drive. It is cheaper to get a cab from the boarder of California and Mexico to anywhere in California then a DUI. The cost alone should be enough incentive not to drink and drive let alone the risk to life.
As long as you don't mess with your cats, you should be fine passing smog. My last statement: If an officer wants too, he will find a reason to pull you over. Forgetting to use a turn signal is enough. |

Are you even serious about asking on drinking and driving? Im amazed how you take a chance at killing innocent people on behalf of your wrecklessness. Remember, its the drunk behind the wheel that always lives.

any cat-back exhaust is okay in cali as long as you don't drive a import cuz police are d*cks and profile folks. a solution for the front plate is just leave your temporary registration that the dealer put on your front windshield on so it looks like you just bought your car. drinking and driving is a potential no no even though most adults have done it. lol

I have been pulled over for no plate and it was just a warning but it usually is a fix it ticket. and for your exhaust anything thing after the cats should be smog legal. also if you are drunk it is better to just jump off a 20 floor building rather then drive.
