My 13 zl1 has a bunch of chips on the front fascia. The car has about 9k mi on it. You would think when shelling out 60k this wouldnt be an issue. Ive had other cars with 100k pkus miles and the chips are not as bad as the zl1. Has anyone tried going to the dealership about the paint issues recently?

Today I felt sick to my stomach when I went in to the dealership for my paint chip issue and they told me I'm S.O.L and to stop driving on dirt roads. They gave me a quote to repair the paint chips and the total was.... $3,160.16 (Their "discounted" price).

As the rest of you guys on this forum I've never driven it on a dirt/ gravel road or lot and take the upmost care for my baby.

I'm sooo frustrated!!!

OK Chevrolet customer Ser. Reggie B:
How about helping out this 2014 Camaro owner... How can his cars paint
be so bad and my '10 SS with 33,000+ miles still doesn't have one chip ?
It's got to be a warranty issue imo.

I'm in the same boat. I've only had the car since November and the front end looks like it's been through hell. Rock chips everywhere in the paint. I drove it through the winter, so stuff blowing in to my front end may have been the culprit, but it's still extremely discouraging to have this happening on a 2014.

I have some on my front bumper, but thankfully none on my gill areas. I did put on some splash guards about a month after I bought my Camaro to prevent possible chips on the gills. I have over 6000 miles, 2013 Camaro.

I got the Xpel package before I bought the car. Full hood, front fenders, full front with headlights, rear view mirrors, rocker panels, and gill area. I may have to go to the Xpel shop that did it to fix one area, my dealer was adamant about this one spot but it's one tiny air bubble. So far I have seen about 3 areas that would have been a chip, but a hour in the sun and the film makes it look brand new.

I know its sucks price wise, but just get the clear bra. It's not a paint issue from the Oshawa robot controlled paint shop, it's that our cars are WIDE and have curves and the monster sticky tires are bazooka cannons for rocks.

That is incorrect. When using a terry cloth to wipe off wax between seams or on edges, and the paint comes off; it has nothing to do with the car's dimensions, and everything to do with the paint process.

Sick of GM

I have so many chips and have had a case opened by GM and even saw the dealer... Then the case was closed. Nobody called me. I called back then they reopened the case as oddly both reps have left the company. They call the dealer who now says I was never there?!?!? I have owned many gms and never had the paint issues like I am having on my Camaro. I love this car but GM has lost my loyalty and that of many that have seen the car. It's a sad day for me as I don't know if I could ever purchase another GM.

Paint is a much better solution and if they are going to do it free, then I would let them do it!
