I drove mine when the snow melted and it was freakishly warm but I would NEVER drive it in anything but dry above freezing temps, like Christmas eve/day this year

Yup. Drove mine this past winter with Pirelli winter tires on the stock rims. Had no problems

When i first bought my 2012 back in 2012 I drove it that winter. I put Pirelli scorpion ice and snow tires on the stock wheels just like ^Skyset and I never ever got stuck or had any issues. I drove through the 'ice storm 2013' with it and it was actually a blast! Had some amazingly good ol' fun with T/C off when i wanted too.

These 5th gens are some of the easiest cars to handle and control in a slide in bad weather etc. A set of good tires is all these cars need. You'll have to take T/C off to go up some inclines without the throttle cutting out and slowing you down the odd time, but that aside, they're great!

And like corpZ said...I've been driving Fbodys since ~2000 and I got my learners with a 3rd gen Z28 and 16 years old in the winter. That taught me a thing or two about RWD, responsibility and having power and handling it in bad weather. Now these newer cars make it 10x easier to drive through the slop!

I no longer daily drive my SS and it hasnt been winter driven since 2013 as I bought a cheap car to commute in for work/bad weather days...to keep the SS in overall good condition and keep the ware and tare down to track days

I bought my 2013 to be a daily driver. I have Blizzaks on my stock steelie rims, and run nice rims in the other 3 seasons.

The car is a tank, but snow tires are a must. I hated my all-seasons that it came with.

Minnesota's almost Canada.

(I only did a few times the first winter when it was new, then picked up a beater. It did really well with proper wheels and tires on it!)

Southern Alberta here. Yup I'll be driving it in the winter. It's my only vehicle, and it's not pristine condition or anything so it's not too big a deal.

Only thing is I've never driven a RWD before this vehicle, let alone in the winter. I figure an empty parking lot after the first snow so I know how it slides and when TC kicks in, and such, and I'll be fine (with decent tires of course)

I spent a year in the mountains of NC and drove my car there in the snow. We didn't see as much snow there as I'm sure some others who posted have seen but combined with the mountain roads I can say the car handles very well. With stock tires I only broke traction once and that was while climbing a very steep hill. I was surprised at how easy it was to control since everyone who saw the car said things like "Don't drive that in the winter" or "you're going to kill yourself". If you exercise caution it's very doable.
