I think this has all been communicated. All of the orders sitting at 3000 will be 2012's. GM will be advising dealers over the coming days on any current orders that have not been picked up yet with allocations. I suspect all of us at 3000 will start to move sometime over the next two weeks.

I think it is the orders that are 3000 or higher will be 2012 MY and the ones below will be 2013 MY.

It all depends on how many more allocations GM allows. Remember the dealer allocations were "estimates" and were never stated as being absolute.

Not true... there will be 500 more (currently at 1100) selected next week to be 2012 MY.

There are potentially more than 500 that are sitting at event code 3000 or a bit higher. We don't know. Those sitting at that event code in surplus of the 500 mark could possibly be switched to a 2013 MY build and they would be figured into the 600 MY 2013 carry over 2012 build orders with the existing 2000-2030 range orders already in the system, along with the 1100 event code range existing orders that may or may not have an allocation from the dealer in place for them. I had a 2030 order (order was placed against a dealer allocation)and learned recently that it would now be produced as a MY 2013, and I cancelled mainly because of that. No further information was given to me other than the fact the convertible would be begin during a seasonal production. It is said their numbers will be far less than the coupes. The only guarantee is there is no guarantee. Many stories and testimonials have been given, and it will probably follow the same course going forward on this new high demand, low volume model. So, IMHO 2030 event code range will more than likely be carried over to and produced as MY 2013. I think about the high volume of 2012 unfullfilled orders that carry over from '12 to '13 without any change to the original 2012 allocation numbers. Will previously disseminated dealer allocations be shuffled, or dropped. How then will the 2013 allocation numbers be adjusted to the surplus of 2012 orders entering the system as 2013 builds? I'm a bit confusing here I know....but this is a fluid ongoing process that will eventually pan itself out, but not having gone through it before personally I can't guage how long that will be. Once existing demand meets supply things will even out. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. It sure has been an interesting process to follow.

Quite sure there is way over 500 if you include the all the cars at 3000. But Event 3000 cars have already been accepted during a previous DSOP... the memo refers to the next 500 cars to be accepted during the final DSOP...

Whew ... That was a hard read.

FYI: At status 2030 the order has NOT been placed against an allocation. That comes at the next update, which would be at 2000. Status 2030 is basically the same as 1100, which all orders go through.

Also it's my understanding there is no production limit for MY13, there is only one for MY12 due to the release time of the model. GM could have released it as a MY13 and gave themselves an extra 6 month production time, like they did in 09 ...

I don't know how to figure unfilled orders. If it was based off of just allocations not filled, or total orders that would have never received an allocation in the first place.

It's my understanding all orders that were picked up at the last cycle, are at status 3000 as of now. These orders are a shoe in for getting built for the MY12. The current orders that are in at status 1100, with an available allocation will be picked up based on a lotto type system totaling 500 orders. The remaining orders with allocations available to them will be carried over to the MY13 build.

This is my third go around dealing with this system, and it never gets any easier. My order has flip flopped back and forth since the first of the year when my order got picked up.

Well SS, thanks for your insight, when I looked at the 2030 event status on GMConnects and the order details said that it was an edit to an order that was placed against a dealer allocation. My dealer explained to me that allocation would come as a 2013. I appreciate your response and it's all good information. Since you have been through this three times I imagine you have seen quite a bit of the ups and downs and can truely speak from first hand experience!. I hope you and everyone in the mix for a 2012/2013 have smooth sailing!

My dealer called a few weeks ago during the hold and said I was gonna get picked up in the march 6 DOSP cycle, but they postponed it. I'm at 2030(1100) so I'm confident that I'll get picked up as a 2012
