First LFX to be dyno'd in this area?

Thanks to bmorecam I will be getting my '12 dyno'd Wednesday to get the baseline numbers. Then from there CAI, Ported TB, High Flo Cats, Exhaust, Tune dont know which one yet then maybe a Twin Turbo later in the year or next year.

I want to shoot for 400 to the wheels N/A so I'm going to wait a year and see how aftermarket performance parts come about for the LFX. I may have no choice but to go turbo to get 400.

I dont know if anyone else has dyno'd the '12 LFXs but look for pics and a video later this week!! Im guessing rated at 323... 275hp maybe?

It will be interesting to see the numbers. What does the other one put down, I thought it was in the range of ~250 Hp, ~240 TQ? So I'd imagine it'd be a little above that.

Nope. I haven't been dyno'd. Both Mac and I are LLTs though.

Yeah 275 may be a little over zealous. Mine was 250, which is pretty standard.Even if you add on the additional HP you won't get 275, and that's not even accounting for the amount lost from that additional.

BUT, I would love to see you throw some turbos on there haha

and always remember that a dyno is not a tool to measure your "overall" exact power you are making to the wheels. It's a tuning tool, a comparison tool from mod to mod.

Some dyno read low, some high, and some about right. Don't be surprised if you come out of your dyno with a lower or higher number than expected. This does not mean that's how much your car is exactly putting down to the rear, but again, it goes back to my first statement, always remember that it's only a tool to measure from mod to mod.

Good luck today and I can't wait to see how it turn out

Don't forget your usb memory stick so you can come home with the actual run file.

Haha i was trying to say that even if you added the stated difference in HP between our two engines to my dyno, it still woudln't be 275. And in just adding the HP difference, you wouldn't be factoring in losing any HP in that amount.

For example, mine is what, 306? I dyno'd 250.

His is 323? Even if you add the stated difference (17HP) to the relatively standard 250 rwhp, you still wouldn't be at the stated goal of 275 (267), and that wouldn't even be factoring in the potential 20% loss to that amount.

Not that I really know what I'm talking about, but I think it made sense in my head?

Laymen's terms, because he still doesn't get it. The extra HP is the HP difference between the LLT (rated at 312) and the LFX rated at 323... he's putting down approx 250 in LLT, adding the difference between the two engines still won't put it above 275HP. If you still don't get it, I don't think we can help you anymore....
