Cam Decision
Well I installed my headers and cold air few weeks back and now it's time for cam. I have an appointment next with a local place here in Houston. And I was wondering did I make the right choice of cam? Any thoughts? I'm looking for horsepower. My choice was 236/250. Positive on the intake side but may be wrong on exhaust side.

Based upon the answer to the questions above you could be good to go or not. |

There is a good chance that intake lobe won't clear and the Pistons will need fly cut depending upon valve events of course and assuming you are a m6 car

Man, so many comments lol. 500rwhp or close to it is my goal. Sound definitely want a nasty old man hacking on a cigar sound but not so much that I will lose hp. Late Model Racecraft is the facility I'm dealing with as far as tuner I don't know his/her name. They basically gave me 3 cams to choose from and now I'm thinking it's 236/245. It was the one that was in the middle. 231/-- or 239/250 was the other. I figured bigger cam more power. Before everyone jumps on that comment I know there's variables that would make that a false statement but generally speaking.

Your talking duration that's important yes but that's way too high for your second number and the LSA and lift are very important also as a lot of cams have longer durations due to having slightly lower lifts. All of those go hand in hand in determining the power and sound and drivability a cars engine will have. If you bought a TSP cam there website shows ls3 dynos on a little blue symbol by their specs in what you can expect.
Heres something helpful on LSA: http://www.compcams.com/Pages/413/ca...ion-angle.aspx
