I agree with you on that Notched. I never liked this AFM/DoD stuff, but I like paying a "gas guzzler" tax even less.

Thanks, I had trouble expressing the sound it makes, but that's pretty accurate. Glad that sound is normal, I guess I'll just let it be

Sewing machine is normal, hissing isn't.

There are several threads on the lifters ticking. You might consider underfilling your oil at your next oil change. Some say as much as 1qt, but I hear that even half a quart low quiets them down considerably. The theory is, that much oil in the pan gets aerated by the crank, then the bubbles get sucked up into the lifters, which causes them to tick.

That sewing machine noise you hear is the injectors..they are loud for sure.

As with any exhaust mod you have to give it time for you to get used to it. It will sound different. Have different noise. Also needs to settle. Put at least 1k miles before you make any judgments.

x2

Had Kooks headers and gaskets on my 06 GTO back in the day. Always sounded like an exhaust leak no matter what I did.

Fast forward, about to sell the car and needed it to sound as good as possible... slap some OE GM exhaust gaskets on it and it fixed my exhaust leak. When I pulled off the headers it was leaking from 4 of the ports.
