Doug Thorley 1 7/8" Tri-Y Long Tube Headers

Did a search, found an old thread from 2010, was wondering how the tri-y lt headers are working out for those that have them?

Going TVS2300 so I want it to be able to breath and I like the idea of the midrange torque. Opinions? Gains?

Won't the supercharger give way enough low to mid range torque without the Tris? I would assume with a SC you'd want at least 1 7/8.

I would throw some 1 7/8" LT headers on.

They are 1 7/8" according to the listings I've found. I guess no one runs them anymore. I see them listed as catted and catless on the DT site, but only see catless for sale various places.

I thought those were 1 3/4 into 1 7/8 and yep no cats. I was looking at those because I didn't like the 1 7/8 headers I had on.

These are listed as 1 7/8", not the stepped ones. Funny the DT site says catted or catless, I emailed them. We'll see.

Ah I was looking at these and the stepped

Anyway I'm pretty sure Ivan from Southwest Speed said they didn't have a bolt up cat option and linked to a Magnaflow cat that could be welded in. DT will know for sure.

they sell both 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 supposedly the 1 3/4 make more power than the 1 7/8. you can put them on and take it to your muffler shop to weld in the cats

I have them and love them. No problems at all. Good fit and finish!
Have had them on for over a year.

If you self installed them, how high did you have to get the car to get them under?

IndeedSS1, I love everything about my 1 3/4 JBA LTs, I lost absolutely no off idle torque(and may have gained a touch). I can idle in 4th gear in my car without touching the clutch or gas pedal through a parking lot with it, no bucking.

I have the DT 1 3/4 long tubes, no cats on my 2011 Prochaged SS. The install with really easy, and they look awesome. The headers still look new with no color changes. I used a lift at a friends shop. I really wish I would've installed cats but after reading about issues with cats blowing out on boosted cars I decided to not waste the $$. I also have factory mid pipes and JBA axle back. I really want to change the axle back to something that will give the car a better tone, the volume doesnt bother me its just I dont think it sounds good. I have been looking at the flowmaster hushpower series. Any ideas??

They are mild steel and ceramic coated. You can buy them for $653 straight from the DT site. Pretty cheap considering they come with connecting pipes too, albeit un-catted.

That might be worth looking at.
