Yeah, I had tinted windows on my 1995 Cavalier and it made seeing out of the back when backing up very difficult. And it wasn't even totally dark.

I rode in a friends Murano with pitch black rear windows and could hardly see out at night. I had to open the window to see much of anything.

Tint may look good on a show car, but it's too much of a hindrance on a normally driven vehicle.

You can tell the difference? At least one of the cars has the "sterling silver" (I know, quite the same as polished) wheels and I can't see the difference. This is taken by a cell phone camera driving down the road, many through windows. I certainly wouldn't use these pictures to make decisions on appearance.

no brake lights so it must be the natural stance.

Looks like the RS's DRLs are the fogs and the SS is the headlamp.

I was just looking at the pics again and red jewel looks kinda pinkish purple. It doesn't look very good in that color. :(
just my opinion

OUCH!!! Sorry to hear about that. No long term effects I hope. The number of people on the road that are doing everthing else but pay attention to the road ahead is scary.
