I have a 2010 SS, 6spd. I am putting on headers with hi-flow cats, x-pipe, and mufflers this week. I am also adding either a Halltech or CAI intake. I have an SCT tuner that I just sent in to be unlocked. (Traded my Ford SCT with a friend who had the GM one, but his was still married to his old car which he no longer has).

The question is, would it be better to get an SCT tune for my car, or take it to a local shop in Texas and get a custom tune, considering what I am adding?
For Such simple Mods there will be little to No difference with just the JRE 415 RWHP Tune file written for your car.

If you Do the Logging it's NO different then me sitting in your passenger seat doing the tuning.

Thank you
Ted.

Roger that. Thanks for the quick response! I'm gonna send you a PM right now about the parts and tune.

Ted, when you do your cam write up segment, will you please explain the differences for selecting road course cams vs drag race cams?

Being new to Camaros and modding LS3s, I read the entire thread and, of course, found it very interesting and informative. My TPW is the week of March 10 but I'm already lining up the mods. To be able to create 40-50 additional rwhp with bolt on mods and a tune is spectacular and just what I'm looking for. I ordered my car with NPP exhaust and I wonder how far you can go with mods before this becomes the limiting factor. I'm interested in a "stealth" power house with as little noise as possible, so I'm not really interested in modifying the exhaust at the present time. Your advice?

Drag race and max effort street cams will have more aggressive ramps on the lobes to get the valve open as quick as possible and higher lift.

Road Race Endurance profiles will use smoother lower lift lobes so they are easier on valvetrain parts at sustained high rpm use.

The difference in Peak Power might only be 10 HP.

The NPP Exhaust will not hold the car back until you get to around 700 RWHP

Ted.

Wow, that surprises me but is a great little piece of knowledge. Thank you for sharing that. So, where should I go next after the usual under hood bolt-ons of catch can, intake and TB? Supercharger?

Cold Air inductions is what we recommend and use on all of our builds simple due to the quality, fit, finish, Performance and Temp of the IAT stability.

Great other choices are Rotofab, and Halltech.
