I love to watch it sleep. To caress its freshly waxed body. I enjoy the anticipation of driving it. Starting it up.... Bringing it to life. Getting inside the car feeling relaxed in my surroundings and knowing that its my car!

Pulling it out of the garage and knowing that it's more car than I can handle on the street. I feel privileged and proud of the looks I get.... Some envious mostly smiles of acceptance and the occasional understanding nod of a true "car guy".

This is by far the most versatile 580 horse power automobile ever produced for the $$.

Thank you GM and I hope this is the beginning of a new era and can't wait to see what's next.

Because it handles like a dream, better than some cars that were priced way over 100k.

Why do I love the ZL1? Well a little convoluted but I'm a huge fan of Top Gear and 5th Gear. The dig on American cars is that they couldn't take a turn. GM started to fix that with the first gen CTS-V. There was some criticism of the 2010 Camaro's handling and GM reacted quickly. To me, the ZL1 and forthcoming Z28 finally answer our European critic's question.....can America build affordable cars that actually handle on a road course? Not just yes, but hell yes!
Imagine seeing you here! Hows it goin?

I haven't owned a Camaro since my 2000 SS but that's the car that made me realize American car quality has finally turned around.

I joined here to see what Camaro guys are doing with boost and it's apparant GM did some things right in the new engines. Similar in size to the 6.1 Hemi but putting out more power it seems.

Sorry for the hijack.

Its my fantasy "Dinky/ toy car" as a kid brought to life... I used to collect Hot Wheels cars as a kid and i remember loving the camaros especially... everything about the car screams "Hot Wheels" to me, lol
all my other vehicles are boring to drive...I listen to music in them to make it more enjoyable. Not this one, lol I purposefully turn the music down to listen to the perfect exhaust note that this car has when you step on it...I actually love stop stopping at intersections in this car anticipating the glorious sound again and again...lol

cheers!

So I have to add to my other answer. Grant you I've been polishing on her getting ready for F Body Gathering in Atlanta this weekend, but I've run out to grab something to eat, as I pull into the restaurant parking lot every single person on their patio stared at my car from the street into the parking spot and were still staring when I walked inside. Black car, sunny day, damn she's good looking.

I love my ZL1...Its head and shoulders above my 2ss which I traded in recently. I totally agree with the Jeckyl and Hyde performance of the ZL1.

Small world . Upgrading the power is pretty straight forward, cam, upper/lower pulley, injectors, tune....done. You can port the snout and add headers but really not worth it until heading north of 675-ish.
