I traded in my v6 for a v8 Tuesday and sad to say I now have been a victim of the recall! I have the separate recall key!

You got your numbers wrong, GM 25 million in recall for 2014.

Ford 1.1 million.

No, not really. The pic was for Camaros so I used the...Camaro recall numbers. I then picked the most notable Ford recall

And if you click the link, you'll see that 1.1 million is just part of the story for Ford. That's just to power steering for Explorer, Escape, and Mariner. The really cool recalls are the ones for fire risks, doors that can open while driving, child door locks that don't work, airbag problems, insufficient head protection, seats that don't meet safety standards, leaky fuel tanks, defective fuel tanks...

GM is cleaning house, sure, no argument, and some of Ford's recalls are marker lights and transmission calibration, but so far no GMs that leak gas from defective gas tanks or that are having control arms fall off.

But GM does have cars shutting off while driving, airbags not deploying, cars being sent off the production line without brakes, etc etc.

I know that this is a really hard time for some people, but this is really the wrong time to attempt to justify GM's recalls and criticize Ford.

If you think GM is the only one with issues like these, you are misguided.

I never said GM was the only company with these issues. lol Hell, my Maxima had the airbag issue too. But I don't try to justify it and place blame on others. Some people need to just accept that GM f'd up and should've made these recalls when they realized that there was a problem.

I know that a car shouldn't shut off while driving and it was an issue that definitely needed to be addressed sooner than it was. But you can still safely maneuver a car after the ignition is turned off. You still have enough line pressure in the brakes to slow down and stop like normal and you can still steer the car. Do people not realize that cars didn't always have power steering or brakes?

And before anyone gets all righteous on me, yes I have had to drive a car safely off the road after it stalled out on me. And no it wasn't difficult.

So you picked one of GM's cars and compared it to many of Fords to make the numbers favor GM. You don't work for CNN or MSNBC by any chance do you?

Oh brother! There's always one, huh? Okay, here we go, take notes if needed:

To answer your question: No. I did not "pick one of GM's cars". I will explain this as slowly as the innerwebz allow, ok? Please try to keep up.

Yesterday at 2:23 pm a member here with the username 'stardok' started this thread. He place a photo in his post. Please scroll up to view it. It has one car in it: the Camaro. Just one car. A very focused and concise photo.

That car is the centerpiece of the topic. I think that's easy enough to understand: that car is what the thread is about. Are you still tracking with me? The thread is about the Camaro.

Then I responded, and part of that was the recall numbers of the car that the thread was about. The. Camaro. I assume you still understand.

Stardok picked the Camaro. Not me. Him. The OP. Guy with the username 'stardok'. He picked the Camaro.

We're clear on that so far? OK good. Whew. I thought I'd lose ya.

You uptight people are taking this WAY too seriously.

I made a juxtaposition and my point was Ford's recalls are not making the same splash. You reactionaries are making a federal case. Relax.
