Hennessey CAI

I think I'm going to order this cai for my SS. I never hear about this one, any bad stories about it? Thanks.

There is allot of choices out there, I went with the Hennessey and could not be happier, it sounds good and looks really good.

Looks tight.... But I think there's one bend too many in the intake tube, I could be wrong though. There's a thread that Ted Janetty did containing detailed results of many of the aftermarket CAI's.

That was the 1st CAI I put on my 1st camaro. Needless to say it didnt go on my 2nd after finding C5. The one that I have the MAF sensor bung is on the wrong side of the tube. Never really noticed to care at 1st. I have the vararam now. Alot better to me. There are many other better choices I think than the Hennessey , but It's whatever YOU want not us.

The Hennessey was going to be my first choice till I started reading infromation here on C5 about heat soak and keeping the intake air temp as close to ambient as possible. The problem I see with the Hennessey is no heat shield, unless they have changed their design and added a shield, I don't know, so all that engine compartment heat can cause high intake temps.

I ended up going with a Roto-Fab which I liked but eventually I ended up with a Vararam! It's really up to personnal taste in looks and what you want for performance. Do the research and make your choice. Looks are important but just remember to buy the one that will keep the intake temps as low as possible!

I heard about the heat soak as well on the Hennessy CAI. I also read about bad workmanship in the products (apparently their heat shield is really flimsy and cheap. I saw that thread posted by Jannety, he found that of all the CAI's in the test, the Hennessy CAI showed the least improvement in all categories. I have, however, heard good things about Roto Fab (because it works well and you can color match) as well at Vararam (because it fictions very well, but doesn't look as good as other CAIs in my opinion). I bought the Cold Air Inductions Inc. CAI and could not be happier. It looks awesome, was a cinch to install (took about 15 minutes) and made my exhaust sound better and made my engine noticeably more responsive. Also, it showed the most improvement on Jannety's test as far as I can remember. Plus its a hundred bucks cheaper than the Hennessy CAI. Good luck with your decision. Here's a pic of mine:

CAI, Roto-Fab and Vararam seem to be the most popular intakes on this forum and for good reason. I'd look into them before pulling the trigger on anything else.

Thank you for your consideration of our product. When the Camaro was officially released, we developed our Intake System to work on the Factory Engine and the Engine with the Magnuson Superchargers. At the time the Heatshields weren't even available. As we began refining our product offerings, a better verison of the Intake was developed to move the MAF to the other side of the Tube to eliminate any rubbing issues on the Radiator. While this redesign was completed and tested, we also changed our Heat Shield for more rigidness and better seal to offer an even better product to our customers. See images of our current intake with heatshield below.

Kit comes complete with the following:
- Polished Intake Piping (2pcs)
- Black Couplers with Hennessey Logo
- Worm Clamps
- Flat Black Heatshield with all Hardware
- KN Air Filter Element
- Instructions

Price of this kit is $495 and ships same day.
