so what,,, they are still just Mustangs. They just slanted the rear tailights which looks kinda stupid. the car has no WOW factorlike the Camaro. Good for those who buy the new stang. Im sure they will like their cars but they wont LOVE them like us Camaro owners love their cars

...one of many articles:

http://autos.aol.com/article/2011-ford-mustang-gt

And the all new V6 is rated over 300hp, and the new GT-500 is an aluminum-alloy block, with "plasma-sprayed" liners, rated at 550hp.
All good stuff, and we can be sure both Chevy and Chrysler will do something similar. THIS is the golden age of the muscle car! We just need to hope that new government emissions & fuel consumption requirements don't kill off the modern muscle car, as they did in '74...

Edmunds.com has the msrp for the 2011 stang at 29,645 and the weight at 3600 lbs. They are a reputable site so these numbers are more than likely correct. That would give it a better power to weight ratio and $1300 bucks cheaper than camaro.

i like both cars, just trying to wait on 2011 gt so i can test drive both cars....mustang will have brembos as option as well as 3.73 gear, less weight. plus i think the glass roof is cool. 412hp in a 3600lb car seems cool, but dont know about 11.1 compression b/c i like boost. Camaro is nice car as well ls3 is awesome, takes well to mods, irs, already decent size aftermarket where as 5.0 will be new.....hate the waiting game let the games begin already.

btw, i would much rather have used c6 z06 than 50k+ z28

brembo brakes or discs or several other goodies the SS already has. I don't think Chevy needs to do anything drastic for the Camaro. It appears that Ford is trying to catch up. The Camaro is setting the pace right now. We want a quality product but we need to be able to afford it. The convertible and Z28 will both fetch a fair sum to own. I can buy a new Corvette for $41k. Now I know that is not everyone's cup of tea and you may prefer your muscle car. Just sayin.
You are getting the GT500 and GT mixed up. The GT500 is the one cutting weight and getting an all aluminum engine, 550 HP and at least 23 MPG. WHich, BTW has had brembos since 07.

As for the Mustang GT, 412 HP, 390 pound feet of torque, 3603 pounds, 6 speed manuals and automatics, standard 3.31 and option 3.55 and 3.73 axle ratios, and yes, an optional Brembo Brake package and at rougly 30400, starts over 1000$ less than the current starting price of a 1SS (after the January price hikes).

Both have been discussed ad nauseum on here.......

Aren't Brembos already available on GT w/track pack?

I bet that new 5.0L DI v8 gets better than 23 highway. If not, that's stupid on Ford's part. They put a 6 spd in it; why not put a big overdrive in 6th?
no brembos on my car

Mustang OPwners seem to be some of the most passionate about their cars PERIOD. There are plenty of people who love their Mustang just as much as you love your Camaro. believe it or not not EVERONE even likes the Camaro "gasp!".

Then it's weird when they take the time to go to a Camaro forum to talk about NOT liking Camaros.

I am not saying the people here don't like it, I like it, but the the op made a statment the Mustang owners don't love their cars as much Camaro owners which is just totally wrong and silly to say. The point was he doesn't like the Mustang, well there are people who think the Camaro is quite ugly too. For me the Camaro is love/hate. it is very dependant on the color. I think it is at it's best in qhite and looks stunning, but not a big fan of silver. etc etc.
