K&N Air Intake System on my L99

First off I got a great deal from ECS Motorsports For $285 and no shipping charge. That is roughly $70 less than about 95% of the market (one place was $480 what a rip off!). Thanks AJ@ECS Motorsports for posting a great deal.

Secondly, this was a very easy install.

(I know the engine bay needs cleaning :P rest of the car is clean though)

Thirdly... When I read that people felt the engine note was different I thought, "whatever, it's an air intake it's not going to be noticeable..." Umm, yeah there is a HUGE difference in the engine note!!!!! When I first got on the throttle some, I could tell something was different and then I "floored" it.... I couldn't believe what I was hearing out of the engine bay. It was like the engine just woke up and now it sounds like a true muscle car. I'm 100% more satisfied with this upgrade than any exhaust note I've heard!!!

I highly recommend this or any other after market air intake system. The stock system's big tube has resonators on it and just suck all the great sound out of the car.

With some LT, high flow cats, Flowmaster American Thunder mufflers, and a tune this car will be perfect for me... Funny thing is my wife keeps asking me when a super charger is going in :P

OMG guys lol I know its dusty where I'm at, I get it lol This about the CAI not my dusty engine bay.

Thanks

Copied or not, this is a great deal and a good bang for the buck. I allow the competition to fight that part out cause in the end I'll reap the benefits :P

Your engine bay is so.... haha just kidding.

Looks good. Thanks for the tidbit about this cheap(er) air intake, too. I was shocked to see them going for $400+ on other sites.

That intake looks pretty good! Any plans to put it on a dyno to see the power increase?

Nah, not just yet. This piece brings an average of 18.62 RWHP and the dyno sheet that came with it said just that. So I'm happy with that. Plus, the Dyno guys in my area are not "to my liking" very hard to talk with.

When I finally get my LT, HF cats and mufflers, I'll tune it and then dyno it. Maybe give Andy (ADM) a call down in the Dallas when I'm ready. Or XP Racing up in OKC.

Day 3 an still no codes thrown and I f'ng love the sounds coming out of the engine bay. I don't think I've driven with the radio on yet or my windows up, just love the sound to much.

Next up, a full car clean...to include the engine bay

dont worry the intake has so much power it will suck up all that dust right through the filter .
