Stopped for some lunch. Torque shows incomplete just like Cant's pic does. Only need one to go ready!!

Great idea on the knock socks!! Will be at the shop on Monday doing the clutch mc - will try to round everything by then.

The knock sensor sock! Good for 30 rwhp!

Really though...if this works I'm doing it.

Knock mittens maybe, but sock never. They would just get lost in the dryer.

More so for the dyno but as some data logs show, even real world the car experiences false knock at WOT.

Glad to hear the that Yellow Glide is back home

In dealing with false knock, it might be a good idea to try making some knock socks. Our engine builder has made some in the past with great success on L67 engines

All it is is basically Ski Rack Foam (muffles any outside noise) and PPC Alloy Tape from Bunnings Hardware (reflects Heat and sound from the Knock sensors like dynamat but doesn't melt)

I'm yet to try it on the LLT though
Great to see you back on the forum...it has been too long!

I'm liking this "sock" idea, but can someone please answer me this:

The knock sensor is more or less a very sensitive microphone which picks up certain sounds or frequencies and interprets them as knock...is that right?

If so, then wouldn't this sock method more or less be "soaking" up and lessing the sounds the knock sensor hears. Doesn't this desensitize them....essentially the same and slightly de-sensitizing them with a tune???

Not sure if sensitivity can be reduced with tune? Perhaps they can be switched on or off? Has anybody tried the new EZFLASH update. Looks like you can just turn the sensors on or off but I don't really know enough about it so thought I'd check with you guys.

Logged about 120 miles and Evap / Catalyst are still incomplete. WIll get some more miles in tomorrow. She running good: getting used to learning to drive again. Will download the know plug in tonight. Now to figure out how to get the read out i need on one screen in Torque.

Can't - how many miles did you have to run before Evap went from incomplete to ready?

Did find out something cool: get the clutch almost fully engaged and add just a little throttle and she starts loping like a BBC with a .600 cam. It does turn a few heads.

Took me 2 months to get it ready sorry to say! But my car isn't a DD so I would say about 300-800 miles.

Literally did mine in about 50 miles. It's the way it is driven. Someone posted on here a few months ago what you have to do to get them all ready in about 15 minutes.
