New Tires. G-Max AS-03 (pics on pg. 2)

So my dealership told me that the noise ive been having is reverberations from my pirelli's or something like that, and that the only way to be sure was to get new tires. I really like the Continental DWS's, but $1200 is a little out of my price range. plus the rears always seem to be on backorder. My next choice would probably be the Yokohama Parada's, but i hear they are no where near as good as the DWS's. Now I see General G-MAX AS-03, but I have never heard of that brand. And there are no reviews for them on tirerack.

So I guess my question is, does anyone know anything about General tires.

Thanks.

Ok found some reviews, and these tires sound pretty awesome. Plus the parent company is Continental. Now if only I could find a site with free shipping.

Have you gotten a second opinion? Same thing as a medical diagnosis. Get a second opinion before you agree to anything.

Thats why im here. Apparently nobody on here uses them. They only came out in April.
Some other reviews I found by googling, were from some autocross testing. An they were all really positive.

Now another question I have is, since these are going on the same rims as the perelli's. That means the TPMS will be reused right. I dont need anything but the tires. Thanks.

Not my question. Have you gone to another dealer, ie a second dealership, to have them look at your car? Because you could buy new tires and still have the same problem, then your out like $1200.

But yes you can/could reuse the TPMS sensors, so you would only need tires.

To answer your ?. I am a tech and we don't have any problems with general tires. They haven't always been great tires though. Nowadays they are good though. I have them on my wifes truck, had them on my TB SS.

I have been planning to get new tires before the Fall season. So if it's not the tires it will be no big deal, I'll just have the pirelli's for spares. I believe them that it's the tires though. The sound is resonance coming of them and it changes pitch, etc on different road surfaces.

well about General tires not always being good. Wasn't it recently that they came under Continentals ownership.

I am running the General tires on my car. I have had them a few weeks now. They look good and drive fine. The wet and dry traction is good. They only thing I notice different from the Pirelli tires is a slight response delay when turning, like the sidewall is softer.

You don't have to reset anything , just tell the guys to put the sensors back on the same corner that's all there is to it .

second page in this section you will find the thread I started about this very tire

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=142667&page=2

I have them on the back and I love them, they are agressive looking and grip better than any All Season has a right to. I am very pleased with them!
