The dipstick looks great! Is that a shelf item for them or did you have it special made? Can't wait to see this project up and running!

Nathan, Call Robert @ ADE: 503-705-7907. and order a LS3 coil pack relocation bracket kit. This is the tightest mounting bracket that I have seen. They are under a c-note with shipping. I still don't think they will work on a stock vehicle without rubbing, but they should work on your car if you don't have the brake lines running from the M.C. right behind the heads. I haven't forgot about the pics, but it is difficult to take pics of the car when it isn't at the shop .

Below are some of the pictures I took while touring the facility of CP-Carillo.

First off, I'd like to extend my gratitude to the whole team at CP-Carillo for their hospitality. I was treated to a personal tour of their facility by one of the co-founders AKA, "Snake". To say "this was a first-class operation all the way around" would be an understatement. I was literally overwhelmed by the amount of quality control, R&D research and capital investment on technology that was demonstrated to bring us great products!

Keep in mind, these are just a small portion on the number of CNC machines.

This was the most expensive machine in the facility, LOL. Now it can't be all work and no play!

This machine would laser each piston with a private label.

I though it was kinda neat how they went about design the graphics for their funny car. They held a contest where people were able to submit their own proposed rendering, then picked the winner out of the top five.

I've been getting a lot of request to post vids of stuff being polished. This is a short one. The only two bolts I couldn't replace with ARP were the 140MM for the alternator. So I did the next best thing.

I will post more as time allows.

Kyle, great minds think alike. I sent pictures to Casey at Wagner today with a link to ADE's website. Those need 2 3/4" clearance. I measure the actually coils and they are 2 1/4". There's a possibility we can get everything down to 2 1/2"

??? That picture isn't of the brackets I'm talking about, or was that just to show the depth of the coil?

And BTW those are some pretty pistons.

Kyle, I need to call Melissa at Visual Impact Performance Systems to see if they can make us a power steering reservoir that mimics the stock one. I haven't posted on the one I got but I'm not feeling it. She e-mail me on Monday to see I was going to be attending SEMA so we could meet. I will keep you in the loop.

Yeah those are the correct brackets! I think they can be tightened up some to get the coil a little closer to the head.

I actually just spoke with melissa last night about another project I have going on, lol.

I purchase two new freeze plugs and had them polished. Once the engine is painted, I will replace the old ones with these.

Been traveling. Throttle body is almost done. All smoothed and first compound done. Maybe the long weekend will give me time to finish it now that I have some more supplies. My felt bobs keep exploding.

Lookin real good Nathan! I passed on your comment that ABS should be my winter project. I'm still trying to get the nightowlleds.com controllers done and ready to sell. People are knocking on my door. I doubt I'll have time this winter. It would be a good next mod. I may have to do the dipstick thing though.

Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see it.

Thanks again, I can't wait myself. It looks like it will be an extra week to get to were I was hoping to be by the end of this week. I'm playing a game of hurry and wait!!!

Wasn't it you who said it only takes 5 minutes ..........

I spent my day at the machine shop today doing engine work. Here are a few pics........

I numbered with and engrave the rods and caps before taking them apart.

Name: 1.jpg
Views: 1481
Size: 169.5 KB

Here we are measuring the pins to make sure we have the right tolerance in relation to the rods.

Name: 2.jpg
Views: 1476
Size: 134.8 KB

Next came measuring the bore of the rods.

Name: 3.jpg
Views: 1428
Size: 169.6 KB

Next is measuring the bore of the pistons.

Name: 4.jpg

Next cam the piston skirts.

In order to balance the crank, you need to know the weight of the pistons, rings, pins, clips, rods and bearing... Even though I gave Lunati all the weight measurements so that they could balance the crank in-house (Lunati balances 50 cranks per week for NASCAR and are within two grams of tolerance), I'm just going to pay to get it rebalanced just to make sure. I just don't want to cut any corners on the eleventh hour.

So we weighed everything again. I have got to say CP does a really nice job! All the piston weighed exactly 421gm.

Name: 6.jpg
Views: 1414

The weight of each end of the rods comes into play when your balancing the crank.

Here are all the measurements we took needed to balance the crank.

Next came installing the ARP stubs to prep for align honing.
