Magnaflow Competition exhaust
Does anybody have the magnaflow comp series exhaust with the 5" tips?
Or does anybody have any input/feedback on them? I'm thinkin about ARH LT with the comp series or Kooks LT with the comp series. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanx |

Looking to wake your new Camaro SS up without breaking the bank? This new catback exhaust from Magnaflow is just the ticket to great sound and value. This all 2.5" stainless system features OEM style hangers and great looking 5" double wall, polished, stainless tips. Due to it's lack of mufflers, this "Competiton Series" catback is the MORE aggressive sounding of Magnaflow's Camaro SS catbacks
Quote from your website. Why do you sell it then?:( |

Well first off, that is a canned description. It is the more aggressive sounding of the Magnaflow systems. We are obviously kinda limited in what we can put in our desciptions...and putting my personal opinion in there would be wrong. Plenty of people will buy that exhaust and love it..even if it is not my cup of tea.
All that being said, I sell plenty of stuff that I would not personally put on my car. It's not about what I want, it's about what the customer wants. Sound, and style are subjective, and there are customers who want a loud exhaust with 5" tips. They are gonna buy it whether I sell it or not, and guess what..I am here to make money. So if it's what they want, I will sell it to them, and give them the best service out there. However if they ask my opinion, I will also tell them that, which I did in my post above. Think of it like a shoe store. If you pick a pair of ugly shoes....it would be be almost wrong, or out of place for the shoe salesman to say "those are ugly" unless you asked their opinion first. As a vendor you walk a line. A lot of vendors will tell you whatever you want to make a sale. If you ask me..I will give you my straight up opinion, and then let you make your mind up. I have put some people off because what they like is on the opposite side of the fence than me..but I would rather be honest then BS. Quote:

I would like to get the axel back system with the 5" tips. I would like to get the sound my brother has on his. His is the full cat back system I just don't want to spend that much on exhaust. Do the systems really sound that different? Is it worth the extra cash?

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54835 I've decided to go with the 3" Street Series and even though it will be quiet for a while, once I get the ARH LTs I should have what I'm looking for. If you don't plan on getting headers then you should go with the competition series or maybe muffler delete.

If you're planning on making 450+ RWHP I would recommend the AR 1 7/8" Short set-up part # CA201078SHW/C with Magnaflow part # 16483. This will give you the LT's, Magnaflow Tru X-Pipe and rear mufflers which will be comfortable at highway speeds and when you get on it you'll know you have exhaust. Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions. Kind regards, |

Hey mattc..I have the magnaflow comp axle back pipes that you are asking about and i love them..I am old school having many big block cars thru out the years and I can say that at idle you want even really notice the sound difference other than a little deeper tone at idle..now when driving she sounds awesome going thru the gears and they are some rpms at highway speed that it might get a littlle loud inside but it really doesn't bother me..my best advice would be to ride in a car that has it on it..if possible and check out the vids on you tube..the one with the L99 rtj car is very accurate to the sound quality...its really all in what the individual wants....hope this helped.
