they are very close cars. problem is the ls1 4th gens are getting older and miled out now. but if you have a new ss and come across a low mile ls1, you better bring your A game. i have minor bolt ons on my 02 ws6 and beat a bone stock l99 camaro, hands down.

no dude 390 gears hence the poor trap speed...do you know anything about drag racing 107 trap with 390's is damn good for a 12.8 with that trap i should be in the 12.6 range but poor 60ft times are killing me

That 4.6 makes as much power as our 5.7, and now their 5.0 is making as much power as our 6.2, So i would give Ford props on their displacement!

Either way, there are fewer and fewer stock'ish LS1's out there...alot of stock appearing 418, 427 and larger ci 4th gen cars that have power adders. I'd watch what the heck I'm picking on for sure, modded or not modded. my buddies bolt-on ws6 went 12.39 @112 back in the day, and there have been faster. They are formidable rides.

Depends on the car. I had a 6 speed '93 Z-28. It ran 14.0 @ 100 stock. Times for those cars usually ranged from 13.9 to 14.4. The auto being slower in stock form. 4th gen cars usually weigh about 3400/3500lbs.

I recently read that the '67 Camaros weighed about 2900lbs. To bad they couldn't do that with the new model...

thank you sweaver and pharmd for making my point....yes the new SS is a fast car and looks great but you new SS owner plz dont start with its the fastes car in the world thing...lets call it like it is ok it runs good but not as good as everyone thought it would sertenly not as quick as i thought it would be...great motor just to heavy of a car

you said 104 trap speed and a 2.1 60'. almost unbelieveable you hit a 12.8

really? since when did the 4.6 make 350hp and the new 5.0 make 326hp?

Camaro is What it is, I have all 5 Gen camaros And It doesn't matter which one i drive
Someone always tries to race me or plays around at the light .Get use to it.

I'm sure you meant 426 hp, not 326. Anyway, the 5.0L 412 practically splits the difference between the L99 and LS3, our 6.2L engines so I'd say his statement is valid.
