I am just getting round to reading / posting again after a few days of working through insurance stuff and catching up on work

By the time this pic was taken I was a lot calmer but I can tell you I was gutted when the front of the car was smacked by a flying truck tire "gator" at 9:30 at night on the I95...

The front of the car was pretty badly smacked up and so was the drivers side inner wheel arch and metal around it - although I have to say that the amount of damage from what must have been around 80-85mph closing speed with a large chunk of rubber was not as bad as it could have been.


I was sorely tempted to just turn around and go home - but that would have been a lose-lose situation.

Duct tape and bungee cords held poor old Smaug's face together and we made it to C5Fest - although I ended up parking with tail end facing out for most of the initial locations

I could see the rest of the crew wince when they looked at my duct tape special - but the main thing was that I made it to the event and got to put faces to a lot of names although I was a wee it embarassed

I know that strangely enough, although having the car damaged was horrible at the time and still bugs the heck out of me - it will be another story for later years - and the cool thing was that my son was with me to share the whole thing

I have to say that collectively the Camaro5 community rocks

My door got dinged right before the cruise in the host hotel parking lot. But he fessed up the next day and paid for the repair. The guy who fixed did an awesome job.

Who was the one who almost ate the wall in one of the first runs on the strip?
