mpg from Michigan to Port Richey Fl
Here is a breakdown on the performance of my 2lt on our trip to Fl.
Gal. Miles mpg(DIC) mpg (actual) 1) 12.5 310 25.0 24.8 2) 11.5 293 25.6 25.5 3) 10.1 278 26.9 27.5 4) 10.2 280 26.7 27.4 5) 7.1 191 27.6 26.9 total 51.4 1352 26.36 26.30 At the beginning of the third "leg" of our trip, we ran into a construction/reduced speed zone. On the DIC the mpg was approaching the 30 mpg range. So I would say if you are going to drive 45-55 mph it is possible to get 30 mpg. But who is going to drive 55 mph on the freeway? I had maybe 200-250 lbs. in my trunk/backseat. On a clear freeway, I was going 70-75 mph I thought using 89 octane I might get a little bit better mileage, But if gas gets to $4-$5 a gal I think i will go back to 87 octane. I will use 87 octane on the return trip the end of March. Also, I can't believe how close the mpg on the DIC & the actual mpg were! |
