2016 ZL1 725HP FROM GM?

Just curious about this. Since the almighty Hellcat has been out and all of the attention it has had would you trade in your current ZL1 if GM offered a ZL1 with 725hp? I have not seen or heard of anyone on here that has traded their car in for a hellcat but if GM offered this 725hp package I know you would have to tie me down to keep me from trading mine in. Would this make you want one?

There is no 2016 ZL1, and if there was it wouldn't have more power than 650.

Very clever wording to get people to read your post. Lol
I would buy a 2016 with 700HP + no matter what they called it.

What does HP have to do with it?
If you want HP then you SHOULD go buy a Hellcat.
If you want a car with power and can still find its way around a track, keep your ZL1. Otherwise why would anyone trade their ZL1 in for a Hellcat.

Seems like a silly comparison.

Besides, we already know the new CTS-V will have 640hp Seen Here
So IF there were a Gen6 ZL1 it would not be too far off.

The fact that camaro weighs over 500 pounds less means u dont need as much hp. Challenger pigcat definitely need all that power.

honestly it is so easy to make 725 crank HP on this car taking the resale hit just for the "power" would be stupid to me.

I would not sell this car just for hp. there would have to be more coming to the table. It's why the hellcat is meaningless to me. It does not handle. It barely runs faster laps than a 1le or mustang get even though it has almost 300 more HP.

I don't see the 2017 or 18 when ever they release the camaro z?? getting anything other than the LT4.

the 8 speed auto car though would be a 10 second car most likely. the styling will would have to be tweaked more for me to buy one though. it is not doing it for me to date.

True, it wouldn't be a problem to get over 700 crank hp from the current gen Z, but not everyone wants to mod their cars. I, for one, would like to get as much hp as I can from the factory. I do agree though that a new gen camaro Z? with 640 hp, and an 8 speed auto would be 10 second capable. We'll see, only time will tell. All I know is, enjoy these fantastic times we're living in because as a car enthusiast it's hard to imagine it getting much better than this.

Yeah a 200lb lighter ZL1 with 650hp from the factory would be awesome though on paper that still puts it as a lower performer than the GT500... Paper specs :/ Theres so much more to a car.

For now, there is no GT500 so I wouldn't worry about matching it's performance. From what I've seen, most GT500 owners can't handle the power that car puts out anyways. . I do understand that GM is concentrating more on the total package, but hp sells cars. I don't think most folks who pick up a magazine care about what the car ran around VIR or "the ring", at least I don't. The first page I turn to is how quick does it cover the 1/4 mile. I'm shallow that way. lol!! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate every time I drive my ZL1 just how well balanced the car is, but I do sometimes find myself wishing it had more power to offset its weight.

The current ZL1 has so much potential that a gen6 would need to be extreme for it to be worth taking the depreciation hit. My plan since before I bought mine was to mod it to ~700ish HP as a summer car and buy a nicely optioned gen6 SS as a driver after they're out a few year and the deals surface. Muscular gen5 and refined gen6

I can't afford to flip cars every three years so I buy carefully and keep them long term.

From what I have seen if you want to see on the upcoming zl1 or z28 watch the new ford mustang and figure gm will be around it in HP. The two companies seem to match each other on Hp increases.

As for trades not likely. Just not sure if I will switch laterally to a ZL1 I want to stroke my ls3 but in Comifornia and their smog rules not sure how reasonable it will be to pass smog. An LSA may be more reasonable to hit the HP numbers I want.
