Any problem with year old tires?

Is there any problem with using tires that have been sitting for a year?
Here's the story:
A friend of mine told me there was a dealer that was selling a set of 4 wheels and tires for $500. There was a customer that bought a Camaro and wanted to upgrade to the 21' wheels. The dealer installed them before he took delivery of the car, and didn't know what to do with the 20' wheels and tires. I gladly paid the $500 and got the RS wheels with new Pirelli's. I have an SS RS but got the polished wheels when I ordered it, so getting the RS wheels from the dealer was a bonus. Now that I want to put the RS wheels and new tires on, I'm a little concerned that the tires may have dried out a little during the past year. What do you guys think? Any problem with year old tires?

NO, as long as theirs no dry rotting you are go to go, I took the wheels and tires off of my truck when they were one week old......I took care of them and put them back on 4 years later when I traded it in....they looked BRAND NEW....no problems at all.

My understanding about tires is they are good for about 6 years, after that they start breaking down and cracking making them unsafe. There is a code on the side of the tire that tell you when they were manufuctured. That give you a guideline as to how long to keep them.

All tires have a date stamp on the sidewall, showing a code of the week built and the year built. For example, "0409" would mean the 4th week of 2009. Tires generally last 7 years, when stored properly. You should be good to go!
