Also just heard on radio, from GM executive that HALF of production is now SOLD OUT. (Sean Hannity show around 4:50 PM)
It must be true if it was on his show!

Sorry, couldn't resist!

My guess?

Long-time lurker, first post. I have a 2SS/RS ordered and am frantically trying to move my current street machine prior to the build so I'm not on pins and needles like you folks are. No fancy signatures or avatars at this time; simply not enough hours in the day.

Here's my guess, FWIW. My company cannot invoice product legally until it ships, therefore we cannot be paid. If GM delays recieving payment until creditors have been written off, all of this money stays with GM vs. paying bills. Business 102. Ever hear of irresponsible people going on a shopping spree with their credit cards prior to filing Chapter 7 or 11 or whatever? It's like that.

I would expect a flood of deliveries as the bankruptcy plays through.

Is it still estimated 4-6 weeks for delivery after production unless bayed?

At 6000 t0 7000 per month I wonder how long till demand and supply are equal and then how long until supply exceeds demand. With car sales in general slow it will be interesting to see. My guess it about 4-5 months of tight supply then you will be able to find some cars on the lots without stupid markups.

Sorry to remove some posts, but there are plenty of threads in the Pricing/Ordering forum to gripe about the delays in receiving your pre-ordered Camaros.

If you add the 21rims,GFX,autotrans,sunroof,RS option you can pass 42,000.

Good math job!

My question would be. How many Camaros have been ordered since the April 1st cut-off for pre-orders? Is there a number available for that? With that number I can use your formula to calculate approximately when my car will get built. And the other folks who ordered after that date. Fun to speculate. Also aids financial planning for the car.

as I posted elsewhere, heard a GM exec. say on radio today that Camaro is selling very well and production was half sold out, by my numbers could be 40,000 total orders if production was 80,000 per year, so preorders plus dealer cars was 22,000 and new orders since April 15 cut off could be 20,000.

I thought they planned to make 100,000 cars. Anyways mine is in that potential 20,000. Yeah! I was thinking VIN # 50,000 would be cool. Would mark a mile stone in production. Just speculating.
