Hello all new here and have a question

I know there has been talk about the clear bra's, I've been looking into 3m clear bra's and I was wondering if there is a problem with it going over the hood stipes and will it adhere good. Someone said that it causes a gap next to the stripe. I was just asking before i invest 500. busks for this covering.
Thanx

Welcome

I've seen the 3M clear bra installed on a Firehawk, and it looked good. Granted, this car did not have stripes.

If you choose to get one, I'd recommend you give your car a good bath as well as clay the paint. I'd follow up with a good wax/polish, but, I WOULD NOT apply any wax/polish to the area to be covered with the clear bra.
Washing/claying will prepare the surface for the bra to be applied, but you don't want anything else applied which may hinder the application.

Good luck
Ed

Moose hit it straight on, especially clay it first. If you have already waxed it I suggest getting some CG Citrus wash to help break up the old wax, you can use dawn as well just don't use it all the time.

Also they can trim around the stripes which is what I suggest doing.

This Camaro I sold to my Buddy out West had 3m over the stripes:

It stuck pretty good right up to the stripes.

Thanx, we got our camaro delivered last sept. and it has sat all winter in storage. My wife is affraid to drive it in the rain or any bad weather for that matter. We have a '02 firehawk, so she drives it instead. I was just affraid of the clear bra not adhereing well, I've also been looking at the Vanguard.
Is it as easy to install as the manuf. says i is? I've always used those old bra's on cars years ago. Don't want one of them at all.
Just want to make sure before the investment is made to do it myself. No one around me installs these clear bra's.
