The amount of R&D done for a paired Auto, might not be outweighed by number of sales. I think it should be an option, but we all know the types of people ordering an Auto ZL1 ,less arthritic or amputee. Therefore the option would be good for the customers, but maybe not good for business. Our poll was just to see how many C5 members are closely following the ZL1 news. The decision has already been made.

As far as ordering one, my name is already on the list, and mine will be an M6.

I think the fact that only 22 Auto 69 ZL1's were ordered should be a hint for the new ZL1.
Well they only BUILT 69 of the damn things, so if 22 were autos, that's almost a third of them.

I don't really get your point there. Actually I get the point you tried to make, but it really doesn't fly when you look at the numbers.

I will get one no matter what... but having an automatic definitely is an awesome idea anyway.

For some reason I thought there were a few more built, 1/3 is substantial.

Reading through http://www.camaros.org/9560list.shtml. I wonder how many of the 69 ZL1s were ordered by a customer. It says the first 50 was ordered by Gibb Chevy, and some of those were transferred to other dealers. Also curious if dealers will be allowed to get one, without a customer order?

Automatics are great. But if ur gonna buy a muscle car and have all those ponies with no room to run whats the point. Buy a v6. +1 for the m6

What decision has been made? By whom? How would an auto option be bad for business? Finally, are you suggesting that only "arthritics and amputees" would find an auto useful and/or desirable?

I'm finding it hard to believe an addition of an already in production automatic would have a bad cost/benefit analysis. An auto would be nothing more than an option that would greatly expand your consumer base, and it would be a "+1" over the competition.

Edit:
Now here is the important part. At C5 Fest I talked with John Fitzpatrick who was already aware of the poll and he told me that if I got it to 1,000 total responses then he would give a final answer about the transmission.

Mr. Fitz stated there would be a final answer upon 1000 responses. One would think, for there to be an answer, the decision must already be made?

Not suggesting they would be the only ones that find it desirable, but why would someone buy a muscle car and let it do the work for them? Fun is in the Row.

They have a paired auto tranny already, it's called the Hydra-Matic 6L90 found in the CTS-V.
