So I'm fairly certain the article isn't even available publicly yet (Road and Track: Laguna Seca), but our favorite buddy Mr. Pill is calling the numbers

GT350R: 1:35
GT350TP: 1:37 - 1:38
Corvette Z06: 1:38.6 (more precise number than the "rounded" values above of course. Oh, and he also said the car is very disappointing....lol)
ATS-V: .6 to .8 faster than Z06.

Lets see if he is spot on....he's going to have to be exact everywhere else it will once again be another classic Pill fail, b/c anyone here who has been paying any attention could have called those GT350R and TP numbers based on what we've already been told. The R is supposed to be a bit quicker than Z/28, and the TP possibly a hair slower. We already know the Z/28 time from last year's MT article, so easy enough to draw conclusions from that.

Said I've said it before, I'll say it again....impressive how this guy has inside sources everywhere. He's got guys in the media field giving him information, he's got guys on the inside of GM, and Ford giving him information, and he also has sources in Germany feeding him times from the Ring.

It is truly incredible....I've never seen anyone so hooked up in my life.

(and if you didn't pick up on my high dose of sarcasm in the last few sentences, then you need to adjust your sarcasm meter)

I like how he says he has to stay up all night to get live reports from his sources at the Ring.

I guess he doesn't have email, text messaging, etc... Telegraph, that's the only way to communicate.

Well they wouldn't be "live" updates if he didn't stay up all night now would they?

I didn't see a Randy time for LS, but perhaps he can explain how the C6 ZO6 beats his precious GT350R but the C7 ZO6 won't

1:34.3 - 2012 ZO6

Hey Phill, I busted you in exactly 3 mins on Google. Then there's that whole VIR lap time for the C7 ZO6 decimating the ATS-V, but somehow it's much slower at LS. Stop listening to those voices in your head and use Google. Much better than your "sources".

Right! It's only a 6 hour time difference from the east coast so noon in Germany is 6am in New York. I'm able to call my Greman colleagues during business hours until 10 or 11 am

GM's time for '15 1LE was 12.9 in 1/4. MT showed it running 12.9 in the 1/4. So when GM says the 6th gen manual will run 12.5, it will. There has been no Mustang GT run better than MT's 12.8, with most being 13.0. So no matter how you cut it, there is a noticeable difference in ETs between them. I don't think you can sell it's a drivers race because even the Scat Pack autos are betting them consistently. 2-3 car lengths is not a drivers race in anyone's book except fanboys.

Right, it also weights 200lbs more with 24 less HP and 30 less ft.lbs. You honestly think 3.91 vs 3.73 gears makes that big a difference to overcome the power to weight?
im not sure this is true cause on mg6 quiet a few guys with stock mustang both auto and manual have run 12.5 -12.4 hell ive done 12.5 with my 3.73 coming out the hole on my shitty pzeros

We can't use individual times as a basis of comparison. I've seen Scat Packs run 12.4s and 12.3s stock too, but none in the mags either. 5th gen 1LE's have run 12.5s-12.6s too. There's too many variables. But when a mag runs all 3 on the same day, same conditions with the same driver multiple times and records the best time....a lot more accurate that individual times.

Hell a C7 ZO6 has run low 10's stock. I don't think anyone believes that is a common time.

Pesky science

Course on the street there's tons of variables and anything can happen.

Opps, confused the Road America one with LS.
