Any race tracks in the LA area?

I'm looking for a well built track to take the camaro out on in the LA area.
All I can find is a toyota drag strip, but I'm looking for a full track.
Anything?

Both those tracks look like they have competions like nascar or races with profesional drivers. I'm looking for somewhere where I can pay to get on the track and then use it for practice

Willow Springs, Button Willow, California Speedway, NorCal has Thunderhill, outside Vegas has Pahrump and Chuchwalla. All those tracks have classes as in Beginners, Intermiate and Professional. Try http://www.opentrackracing.com , http://www.speedventures.com/ . I'll be at Willow Springs each month before the raining season starts and get too cold. Drag strips? The only one I can think of is the Pomona area.

When you say track, do you mean road course, or 1/4 mile?

Toyota Speedway Irwindale is an 1/8th mile drag strip, and also a small oval track
http://www.toyotaspeedwayatirwindale.com/index.asp

California Speedway - AutoClub Speedway in Fontana is a 1/4 mile . They also have a road course, and an oval. Karting in the parking lot. http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/

Famoso 1/4 mile dragstrip is in Bakersfield. http://www.famosoraceway.com/

Pomona Fairplex has a 1/4 mile dragstrip, but its not open very often, thank the neighbors for that. http://www.pomonaraceway.com/trackinfo/

Willow Springs in Rosamond has Big Track, Streets of Willow, Horsethief Mile. They sometimes run drag racing at the track. http://www.willowspringsraceway.com/home/home.asp

Buttonwillow has several configurations of road course. http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com/

No i meant a road course, but its nice to know that theres alot of drag strips near by.

My father just got a M3 which I'd like to take to a course.
I dont have enough experience with drifting so i'd also like to take that and become more familiar

Well local to LA the 3 tracks are:

California Speedway - AutoClub Speedway in Fontana is a 1/4 mile . They also have a road course, and an oval. Karting in the parking lot. http://www.autoclubspeedway.com/

Willow Springs in Rosamond has Big Track, Streets of Willow, Horsethief Mile. They sometimes run drag racing at the track. http://www.willowspringsraceway.com/home/home.asp

Buttonwillow has several configurations of road course. http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com/

Each site has a Calendar of events, which promoter is running on what days. Call them up, check out the sites of the guys running the events. Expect a couple hundred dollars for an entry fee. Then make sure the car is in good running order.

Let them know you haven't run at the track before, and they will help you out, point you in the right direction. Most will have instructors, and show you the way around the track.

On my off time from STILLEN I am team manager on a race team that runs in World Challenge Touring Car, and the last few years I have done a ton of events locally with NASA. If you have any questions, let me know.

call me crazy but we gave this guy the info for the Track(s) info in SoCal. Yet he keeps saying Road Course Track(s), all those links we provided should've clarified "Road Course" (cus all of them are Road Courses). Not being a dick but are meaning auto-cross maybe?
