Anyone's Dealer still have no info on the car? 2/23/09 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ok, i went to the dealer last week (Staten Island, NYc) and they had no information on the car really. I knew alot more then them. They had no brochures, price list, package options...NOTHING! Also, i was told that the camaro LS and LT will be coming out in April (not March) and the SS models wouldnt be out till June or July. I was able to order it but i wasnt gonna give the dealer 1000 bucks (non refundable) without getting some price quotes and the fact that they know nothing about the car and packages. I been looking around this forum these past few weeks and it seems everyone for the most part ordered a SS model and they are getting it within a month or two. Anyone know why im being told i have to wait 4-5 months? Anyone else have this problem? Do you think its just the dealership because i havent went to another yet. My plan was to go to a few and see where i get the best deal but like i said, im being told i still have 4-5 months to wait. Can any one help me out with some answers? please...

Nightmare,

That's too bad that you had an unpleasant experience with that dealer. It's true that you probably won't see one on the lot until April. Of the 20 we have sold, 80% were SS models. We have told our customers that they will be delivered between April thru July and as soon as we have a definite date of production, we'll be able to narrow down their delivery date. Since we have sold out of our current allocation, any new orders will be delivered starting in August. Good Luck to you!

I work for the dealer - I give them all the info for the camaro which comes from THIS site!!

If they don't know anything about the car, this may be your opportunity to be high on their list. It's quite possible they haven't placed any orders yet. Work with them (and show them all the info on this site). Show them they can place pre-orders and where their training videos are. I would see this as quite the opportunity get your car quick!

Beginning of February i went to one of the dealerships near me and the day i went they had JUST gotten in brochures on the Camaro. nothing too big or too informative but laid down the basics of the models and teh back was a poster thats now up on my wall

Hmm...so i guess ill print out all the information i gather on this site and bring it back to them and see whats good...I just dont see how i can order something from them when they dont even know any prices...you theink they are gonna go by what i bring them in off the web? BTW thx for showing concern for my problem =)

Ordering without pricing is no issue. Ordering from someone who tells you the V8's won't even be produced until June or July would be a big issue to me; but that's strictly my opinion...
