Scratched up trim in trunk

When I bought my car (dealer demo) the trim/molding in the truck was pretty scratched up. Any suggestions for getting the scratches out?

Personally it's the trunk, no one is going to see it. Best you can do is just replace the plastic.

True. Only one that sees it is me, lol. They must have been having some kind of party back there to scratch it up like it is!

Unless they sell the trim somewhere, I guess I would have to find a totaled Camaro at a junk yard if I did want to replace it.

Yeah I don't think you'll be able to fix it. My advice is don't sweat it. If it's a dd, it's gonna get beat up anyway. Mine is. Golf clubs barely fit.

You should put in a new engine, too. The one you have now is probably dirty.

LOL I am not sweating it that much, I have had the car for a month and am just now getting around to asking about it but when I say it is scratched up, it's not like a couple little scratches.... I have 2 kids and have had many cars and never seen scratches/scuffs this extensive.

The rest of the car was in such good condition that I am just surprised that A dealer demo car could have had that much damage in the truck area.

Just thought I would ask, it would be good to know if there was something in general to fix scratches on the internal plastic/vinyl, whether it be in the truck or elsewhere.

You could go back to the dealer and ask them to work with you on this. IE buy the trim at their cost and pay a half hr or so labor to replace trim. You could start by asking them to replace as you did not notice at time of purchase and then settle downward, as they most likely will not replace at no cost.

If it is the black plastic trim try using Solution Finish Black Plastic & Vinyl Restorer. This is a great product that will maintain and also remove those very fine scratches.

You can buy the trim if it was bad enough and bugging you. ~$40-50 a piece for each side and the back

Thanks, good to know. I would probably be better off just replacing that back panel though if I decide to do anything because they are more than just fine scratches.
