For those who got a tpw from the 800#s

ok...im a lil pissed off cuz i see alot of people saying they got tpw's from calling the customer service 800 numbers...i called today 3 times...first time i called 866-790-5700 and they said they dont have tpws to give and then i called 800-222-1020 and the lady seemed like she was gonna get it but who knows i was holding and my cell died...so i rush home and call back and get a different guy and he askes me for my dealership so he can call them and ask...i told him they dont know it and thats y im calling u...he tells me that they have the same information and puts me on hold...comes back and tell me that he called another department and they dont have a tpw and for future reference to call my dealership for updates...so im just pissed off cuz i dont understand how others are able to obtain this information but i can not...my order was pull last thursday like every1 else getting tpws for june 28th...i could just assume i have the same tpw as them but i wanna know for sure...for those who got the tpw off the 800 number, which number did you call and how did you go about getting it? am i missing something? i just dont understand.....

They said they dont have a TPW for me either and to get my event code from my dealer, cause she couldnt give me a new event code.

Here's what happened to me guys. Mine was moved to 3000 on the 27th as well. The lady I first talked to last week told me that my order was accepted into production control (3000) but they did not have a TPW yet and to try back the next week to see if it got updated. I waited until this week and called on Monday. I told the girl that I was told to call back because I was told I was to be given a TPW sometime this week. The girl did the usual, I held for about 5 mins, and she came back and said my order was accepted to production control and I had a TPW for June 29th, but that could change. When I called today just to see if I had maybe moved, they told me I they couldn't find a TPW for my car. I told the guy that I had received one 3 days earlier and he just kinda blew it off like whatever you say man. I have no clue what is going on. I'll just trust it until it passes I guess. But I thought they were closing down the plant for the first week of July. My TPW week includes the first 3 days of July. I called the 1-800-222-1020 line and went through the warranties section both times. God help us all.

I am as impatient as most of you guys but come on... If you went to 3000 last week and the new trend has been 2-4 weeks (some longer) to get to 3400, why keep calling for an update? You are just putting unnecessary aggravation and disappointment on yourself. Most of the guys here waited several months just to move to 3000 and weeks and weeks more to 3400. Be patient young grasshoppa, paaattiiieeeeennncceeeeeeeeeeeee.
Ok, I am done. I will call the CS line and ask for update on my order.

I would not believe any TPW that is given through the customer service number. There is a reason this information is not flowing down to the dealers and that is because it cannot be trusted!! I believe that the factory shutdown is July 6th - July 10th, is that correct? I would just hang in there and wait for your event code to hit 3400, once you are there it will not be that long until you hit 3800.

I found out today that I went to 3300 and saw that others had TPW's from GM customer service, so I thought I would give it a shot. The first time I called a lady told me she could give me a tpw then she put me on hold for over 5 minutes then came back and told me that they were having technical difficulties and she couldn't get the information from a different department so I should call back in an hour. I called back later and got a man who told me that they couldn't give out any dates because they had a lot of orders and some were waiting on parts and they wouldn't know which ones so they couldn't give me any other information than that my order was in the system and should be built soon. When I asked him how other people were getting dates he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. He then told me that I should call my dealer if I wanted to know anything because he said GM gave the dealer the first information and that the dealer would have better information than he had access to. None of it makes any sense, and neither of them seemed to speak good English. I am also curious how everyone is supposedly getting tpw's out of them.

If you are at 3300 then GM has scheduled you for production which means they have an idea of when your car will be built but they probably don't want to tell you in case they miss that date or something. This is why people should not be freaking out over whether or not they are getting a TPW because that TPW doesn't really mean anything anyway. My uneducated guess is that once you get to 3300 you should probably be produced within about 2 weeks.
