New 2013 - suspension rust ?
Purchased a new 13 about a month ago, couple weeks ago I install a cat back exhaust and I am thinking boy is it dirty under here. In my garage without very good light.
I did not pay to much attention to it until a few days ago when I am installing my new CAI and remove the wheel panel and see rust, felt ill but finished the install and thought maybe it is not that bad. Today I start looking a little closer, you guys tell me if this is acceptable for a new Camaro, see pictures: Thought about trying to clean it, but it looks like it would be a lot of work even if possible. I am going to go into the dealer this week for sure to get it on a lift so we can see it. All I know is I have a 2002 Firebird and a 2013 truck that look nothing like this. Not sure what other action to take. |

Wow, my car is 3 years old and doesn't look that bad. A little sandblasted from the tires but not rusty. I also noticed you are from Arizona, so theres no chance that someone could have test driven it in any salt before you bought it. Unless your dealer got it from up north?

Looks like it was driven in the winter. The white water marks look like salt from a winter road. No way it would have any kind of rust if it was just an Arizona car.

The car has never been driven in the rain, dont even think it has rained since we got it. I have washed it and polished it every weekend since buying it but it should not have caused this.
Just sick about it, I have not even told the wife yet. |

If it was titled as brand new to you take it to the dealer and complain. I have a 2013 bought in October 2012 and it has no rust on it. It also is my DD and has 28K miles on it.
The only other thing I could think of is you drive down a dirt road or on lots of gravel to of tore the paint off of stuff so it started rusting. |

Also forgot to mention that mine has close to 36K miles on it. If thats what it looks like after only a month I would be a little concerned about what it would look like 4 or 5 years from now.

Actually I am "very-very" concerned, the car has just over 1000 miles now and has never left the pavement or even been far from the house. I just looked at the window sticker and the car was shipped from Oshawa, Canada to the dealer I bought it from. I cannot tell how long ago though. I will call the dealer Monday, get it in and see what they have to say. |

This in a new car in Arizona?
I don't think so. I have a 2010 which I keep off the road in winter, in Massachusetts, but I do drive in the rain when using the car May-October. There is almost no rust. Your car looks like my winter beater. This is a flood damaged car, I would guess. The dealer owes you an explanation! |

Seems to me there was another member not too long ago that got a replacement Camaro because the underside of his "new" car looked like that.
That just isn't right.

Wow. I have a few really old cars in my collection. Only car I have that is close to looking like that underneath is my 1993 3kGT. My current 2014 2LS has almost 1500 hard Chicago inner city miles including some snowfall and lotsa rain and I was under it just a week ago changing the oil and it looked mint. Like mint! Even my old 2012 2LS after a year had no rust underneath, just some dirt here and there (rubber CV boots looked dirty as hell as I remember).
Yeah dude, I would look into this. That is some serious rust there. |

I drove my '13 in an Ohio winter, road salt and all and it didn't end up looking like that.
A couple spots maybe, but man, thats just crazy. Good luck with the dealer and GM. |
