Pics of Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice tires

I struggled with what to do with my summer tires...we don't get much snow here, but as soon as the temps started getting into the upper 30s in the mornings it was like driving on rocks...slippery, tire-spinning rocks. Finally I decided to get new rims and winter tires from tirerack. I think they turned out great and I'm very pleased with the ride quality (although it's been sunny and dry the past few days so no idea yet of wet/snow performance). These are the 245/50R-19 Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow XL tires ($195 ea) and 19x8.5 WedsSport RE-005 BDC rims ($99 ea).

Thanks for the photos. I should be getting some 20" Pirelli using the stock midnight silver rims sometime this week from Belle Tire.

They told me they would change my tires out from winter to summer complimentary, so even doing all the math, the cost of just the tires was cheaper than a new set/rims.

Nice deal. I thought about just buying tires, but from what I've read it's hard on the rims (possible damage) and the tires (stretching) to switch them out twice a year. At least this way I can rotate my winter tires since they are all the same size now. Oh, and I did want more sidewall on my tires for the winter.

$1123 and the southside Belle Tire manager Ryan told me to mention if I knew anyone else looking for a set that they got another one in.

The $1123 was also with the tax, and labor added.

The Pirelli Ice and Snow worked great on 296 last winter. Very good in the snow here in Michigan.

I have a place that will swap tires for $100, considering what it would cost for another set of rims too, it is worth it just to spend the $100 every season and do it...

I don't know about that...my rims were $396...if it costs $100 twice a year to swap tires then I will have broken even in only 2 years. Plus I can rotate my winter tires to extend their lifetimes. Am I missing something? I guess the initial out-of-pocket expense is higher, but I plan on keeping the car more than two years for sure!
