What color ambient lighting in ZL1?
Does anyone know if the ZL1 will have ambient lighting and if so what color it will be? With the red stitching accent, will Chevy go with red ambient lighting and maybe the red instrument gauges from the LS7 concept car? Did anybody at CF2 get a close up picture of the interior with the ambient lights? Here are couple of pics with the red gauges. The black trim around the gauges and on the steering wheel look pretty good too!

Or a "pick your color" option like the... (Cough...cough) mustang GT.

It's been confirmed as red since the debut in Chicago.

Thanks, I went back and looked it up and found the "carbon black inserts in the doors and dash with red accent lighting". What do you think of the red gauges to go with the red accent lights and red stitching?

I hope they decide to make it "pick your color" otherwise some modding will be necessary. LEDs aren't terribly expensive, and neither are the control units to run them. I have 20 seven color light strips on my bike, with a remote that changes the color & mode.

Truthfully I prefer the look of the gauges as is. The red color gauges aren't that bad though and would probably grow on me over time.

Its really gonna irritate me if it only comes in red! Why would i want red lighting if i have a blue exterior color. It would be cool even if they offered it to be the same color as the exterior of the car. IMO!

I was thinking white gauges myself, idunno about the ambient lighting around the gauges, but around the footwell area's a choose of colors
would be welcomed by me. Means a little less modding for me and done at the factory which would be sweet. |

Red interior lighting = Pontiac. It definitely should be pick your color.Could you picture a Blue, Green, or Yellow car with red lighting & stitching for that matter. It would be plain out ugly. Yellow w/ the Red would make it look like a Hulkamaniac-mobile.

I liked what I saw in the promotional ad. The lighting shouldn't get too funky with colors because in time it will grow to be a nuisance instead of a visual aid.
Soft white or a combo of soft white and very light blue in some spots.

I'm glad to hear the ambient will be red. It'll match well with the stitching inside, and help differentiate the interior from the others.
But red-faced gauges would be way too much for me. I'd swap them out as soon as I possibly could. Red IP lighting I think would be riding the comfort line...I really, really prefer blue over red (which is actually one of the reasons I prefer the Equinox over the Terrain...) |
