2010 Camaro is pace car for today's truck race at Atlanta - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I am watching Nascar truck series qualifying on Speed channel right now and noticed the 2010 Camaro with the same paint scheme as was used for the Datona 500 is the pace car. Since qualifying has just started you probably won't see too much of the car right now; however the race starts at 1:30 p.m. today. I am also thinking that since the Sprint Cup cars are also at Atlanta it is reasonable to assume the Camaro will be the pace car for tomorrow's Sprint Cup race at 1:30 p.m. as well.

I just seen that a truck is the pace car for the truck race. Sorry for the bad information. I did see the Camaro pace car out for truck race qualifying this morning so I am sure that means that it will be the pace car for Tomorrow's Sprint Cup Race. That race is Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Ok you have a point so I went out and found the pictures of the Daytona 500 pace car. Here are a few of them. Of course I am sure the door decal is changed but other than that it looks to be the same paint scheme.

from what i understand, they're the daytona cars with the race logos changed

That would make sense to me. With GM having the financial difficulties they are having they need to get some use out of those pace cars! The Camaro sure does look sweet going around Atlanta Motor Speedway.
